747-400X LEGS Page/Speed change

In some instances, in order to match published STARS, I would like to reduce speed at specific waypoints using the FMC. At times, it is done easily (ex: 240/ in scratch pad + upload to appropriate right LSK + activate) but, at other times, the FMC simply refuses to accept. I get "Invalid Entry". Yet, if I inject ex: 240/3000A, which is the speed intended plus the altitude already in the FMC, all goes OK. Can PMDG or someone explain this FMC's behaviour (or is this a bug?) Thanks in advance.Jean-Guy

Hi Jean-Guy,I've read somewhere (in the FMC guide I think or maybe in this forum or in Training Course Lessons from PMDG, I don't remember where) that the real FMC has the same feature, and sometimes, you need to enter AND the speed AND the altitude, I don't remember why.

You can't actually enter a speed by itself, there has to be an altitude restriction placed as well.
