July 9, 200817 yr Commercial Member Hi Rayek,AGP is an ancient technology at this point. You should really think about upgrading to a whole new PC. In order to use any of the newer video cards, you need PCI Express, and that means getting a new motherboard. Getting a new motherboard in turn means getting a new CPU and RAM too. That's basically a whole new PC. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 9, 200817 yr Commercial Member Ryan is spot on, if your still on AGP that suggests you are still running on the older CPU's and that is what's holding you back. But if you are really short of cash and cant afford to upgrade try this...http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=GX-161-ASIt's the best and probably the last AGP card you can get your hands on (I'm surprised they are still making them) Rob Rob Prest

July 9, 200817 yr Hi can you please confirm that the graphic card u just sent me a link towards is a lot more better and advanced than the nvidia 7950 series?Rayek.http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e62/ritz...tishAirways.jpg
July 9, 200817 yr Commercial Member All I know is it's the fastest AGP card out there. How much faster I cant tell you.But honestly, unless you cant see yourself getting a new system in the next 12 months save your cash mate and upgrade your system. If you got yourself a good Duel or quad it will transform FS for you :)CheersRob Rob Prest
July 9, 200817 yr Hi does anybody have any experience whether I should purchase the Nvidia 7950 AGP interface graphics card and would this make a significant difference towards the current one I already have which is 7600 GS as I want near to perfect graphics on my FS9, also would it be possible to convert my graphic card Interface from AGP to PCI-Express as there are a lot more powerful cheaper pci-graphics cards available if so where would I purchase this interface from, thanks.Rayek.http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e62/ritz...tishAirways.jpg
July 9, 200817 yr Author Commercial Member Yeah, that's the other thing too - FS is far more CPU dependent than it is on the video card. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 10, 200817 yr For what little it's worth, my new, 'clean' PC (specs below) absolutely slays the 744 at detailed airports with all FS9 sliders maxed. Nothing less than fluid FPS even with clouds galore. Assuming your peripherals and monitor are still OK, replacing the box should cost you under $1,000 USD. My historical experience of upgrading bit-by-bit is that it NEVER really improved things for me as there will always be a bottleneck in the older bits of your machine.I would suggest saving the pennies for one big upgrade. :-) Mark Adeane - NZWN
