August 30, 200817 yr Hi everybody,I've just a question since we are always looking for better performance with fps intensive products we know that a constant defragging is important. I always used the XP default tool and I read on faqs that it is not quite efficent. So, being anyway my HD frequently defragged, do you think that using a tool like O&O I could get a performance improvement?Regards
August 30, 200817 yr Commercial Member HiGenerally speaking defragmenting your drive should speed up game loading times a little bit. Seeing any improvement in actual FPS is doubtful. With regards to 0&0 defrag I recommend you have a look at NickN's guide at the following link: http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Ya...?num=1208959973Hope this helpsKonrad Konrad

September 5, 200817 yr Commercial Member I use a combination of Perfect Disk 2008 (for its superior offline mode) and O&O 8.6 in Complete/NAME mode. My prefetching and windows built-in defrag system is configured per Nick's guide so that it doesn't move stuff around between defrags. September 6, 200817 yr I use Auslogics Disk defrag. Just to throw my 2 cents in ;). Kevin Hester, Indianapolis, Indiana
September 6, 200817 yr Commercial Member I myself use Diskeeper 2008 Pro Premier...Some of these defrag programs (O&O included) you have to pay for. There are a few decent freeware ones out there that may be worth a try before u buy.As to which is best you'll get a different answer from just about anyone you ask!Konrad Konrad
