July 17, 200223 yr ok I flew this plane. So after seeing the problems you describe I went in and changed the engine static ratio from 1.000 to 1.080 and you need to climb with FLCH rather than speed. for some reason with a 757 it wants to over climb and you will stall. so I used FLCH to get me to altitude then after that you can use either VNAV or speed.http://www.avsim.com/posky/images/757FDE.jpghttp://www.avsim.com/posky/images/banners/gary_ban.gif Gary Hayes My Youtube No i'm not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
July 17, 200223 yr Gary,Could you explain exactly what FLCH does? Does it control the climb by adjusting the V/S to keep a set speed? Thanks Eric
July 17, 200223 yr FLCH = flightlevel changeit will adjust the pitch to keep the set speed.the lowest VS I hit was 1000fpm and that was at FL370+http://www.avsim.com/posky/images/banners/gary_ban.gif Gary Hayes My Youtube No i'm not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
July 19, 200223 yr I would think that VNAV Climb would handle the speed problems as well though. FLCH would probably have to keep the same rather benign climb rate anyway (assuming the thrust rating isn't changed).I'll try your suggestion out, but the performance still seems rather poor. I will probably just blast around in the 76 and pretend its the 75... I dunno ;)I'm still wonderin if Mr. Toussaint has anything intriguing to say about this issue, and whether it is fixable on his end :)Have a great weekend fellas!
