FMC/Overhead Panels on second PC/monitor?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to put the 767PIC FMC on a second monitor or a second PC? I looked at WodeFS but got the impression it would not fit the task. By the same token, is it possible to put the overhead panels on seperate monitor or PC?Thanks in advance.

Indeed possible! Not on a second PC though, but on secondary monitors. If You have any free PCI slots in Your machine, You can install PCI Graphic Cards there and "extend" Your desktop over these monitors. All You have to do is to undock and drag the panel parts of Your choice to these secondary monitors. Personally I have the PIC panel displayed over two 14" monitors this way.If You have a couple of machines left over, I sincerely recommend that You use them as outside views. Take a look at a freeware software called Wideview, which makes it possible to run FS over a network of computers. More information (and plenty of screenshots) at the Wideview forum - http://www.escapeairlines.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=WV/Patric

If you have a geforce 4 based nvidia card you can do it natively through the drivers using the nview software like this. you can use various combo's of monitors .Im using a crt for the main and a lcd for the secondary.

very nice. loss of frame rate? i have GF2ultra, should i expect frame rate hit?Pat

Andreas,That looks like the answer to a prayer, but are you saying that you run all that on one PC?? Without any fps hit? If that's true, I'll be right behind you because that's just what I'm looking for.How do you run 5 monitors on the same box? Multiple graphics cards? What sort of specs? Sorry to pester yoy, but I do find that mighty impressive.Cheers,AndyEGTR

Check http://www.simpit.de on a regular basis, I'll post updates there as I add bits and pieces.I plan on using one pc with 3 vga cards.1 agp geforce 4 ti4x00 with 2 vga outputs and 2 pci matrox millenium g450 with 2 vga outputs each.matrox also makes a quad card but it's

Andreas,I've checked the site... it looks extremely interestng. One further question if I may. You state 21" monitors in your list of equipment, but the ones in the photos look much smaller - like 15" or 17". Are you planning on going to 21" at a later date, or is it just that the photos are deceptive?Andy

The "plan" calls for 21" monitors, or beamers.Currently I'm only using 19" and 17" monitors.

Nice!What's the WD-40 for?:-)

System specs: Dual core E6300 (1.86g X 2), 2gb RAM, nvidea7800GT, Saitek yoke, CH throttle (6 lever), Soundblaster live.
Add-ons: FSX: LDS767, FSL Concorde, FT E175/195, PMDG 747X/737X, Active Sky E, some freeware airports.
Human specs: Desktop simulation since FS1, beta tester (LDS, FSL), 737NG simulator tech (Threshold Aviation), r sole+.

Andreas,Nice setup! What did you do to get the PIC panel blown up and divided over 2 screens? This is something I would like as well.Kind regards,Stephan Haas

First get your multiple monitor setup running correctly under windows.Make sure the monitor icons are arranged the same way under display properties as in real life. If you don't do this your mouse will not move between the monitors correctly. It helps to run the same resolution on all monitors. Then, while in FS2002, right click on the main panel, select "undock window" and drag and/or resize across all availabe monitors.Sounds more complicated then it actually is.Regards, Andreas.
