PIC767 aircraft configuration file

Featured Replies

I'm trying to modify the default aircraft.cfg into a file which meets a real B767-300ER from KLM.Besides the fact that I'm not able to increase the airmilage (Fuelflow-correction + Drag-factor), the aircraft doesn't want to fly after adjustment of the tankcapacity figures in the aircraft.cfg file.I first changed the tankcapacity into kg's (and also using the metric system in FS2002). Without any problems the aircraft flies...hoeray! After adjusting - and increasing - the fuelcap. the aircraft simply doesn't rotate! Believe me, the tankcap on this aircraft is realy 91000kg. (I converted this into gallons with a fuel-density of 0.804 kg/l)Why doesn't this work and/or what performance parameter has to be adjusted in this case? And about the fuelflow and/or drag factor; can this be changed?Maybe someone has worked out this .cfg already? Beside the fact that the default 767PIC .cfg is not performing 'very well' in cruise, its defaults don't seem te be very accurate.RgrdsEd

hmmm....

That was my first reaction too.....

91,000Kgs of fuel, you do mean 91,000L dont you? I dont think you will take off with 243,00 LBS of fuel. Yes?What exactly is not performing well? Maybe the pilot that developed this program was wrong after all, who knew?

Don't do it little fishy, keep on swimmin' ;-)

"Beside the fact that the default 767PIC .cfg is not performing 'very well' in cruise, its defaults don't seem te be very accurate." Well I don't mean to burst your bubble my friend but the default aircraft preforms pretty darn well. Not to mention the fact that we have a "number" of real world pilots {767-757} who say that it does. There was some give on taxi power to give correct climb + cruise preforamnce though which we can live with of course. Also, PIC was modeled after a AAL 767 which might be differn't than your KLM 767 although it can't be off by much. If you do a search here you will find this topic is dealt with many times, I suggest you do it, you just might find something you can use to help you out a bit in this regard.Best Wishes,Randy J. >>from KLMWell that explains it, must just gotten done in one of Amsterdam's special smoking shops when he was figuring it out. :-lol

Thx Randy, mmm, got mixed-up with some figures. (don't trust those bars in Amsterdam anymore!)By the way; I found out how to adjust the fuelflow correction on this KLM B767 (PHBZC). On the real FPL it shows F-F +4.0Because I got this FPL in front of me I trying to simulate this with the PIC767.I adjusted the fuelflow in the FSEdit program and it seems to work.Using this program to change tankcapacities wasn't working. Mixing-up kilograms and liters doesn't mean the plane will fly...So, all fixed now and working on a simulation of the real flightplan with PIC. fingers crossed.RegardsEd
