February 13, 200323 yr Hello guys and gals,After reading about a number of strange occurrences and behaviors of (mostly PW-powered) B757's, I downloaded Matthew Murray's Dutchbird 757 (PW-powered).I discovered that my instructions to keep the associated AIRCRAFT.CFG with all released packages was not followed which is likely to be the reason of these strange behaviors.Since many parameters specified in the FDE file (.air file) are actually duplicate AND overridden in the AIRCRAFT.CFG file, old and wrong values were applied by Flight Simulator. I find this quite nonsensical that these parameters are present both in the FDE and in the .air file, it only sets people up for errors, such as here.To fix this, open the AIRCRAFT.CFG file of your B757. Then copy the following between ##'s, excluding the ##'s:##;Moments of Inertiaempty_weight_pitch_MOI = 3489835.000empty_weight_roll_MOI = 935720.000empty_weight_yaw_MOI = 4046310.000empty_weight_coupled_MOI = 0.000CG_forward_limit= 0.000CG_aft_limit= 1.000[flight_tuning]cruise_lift_scalar =1.000parasite_drag_scalar =1.000induced_drag_scalar =1.000elevator_effectiveness =1.000aileron_effectiveness =1.000rudder_effectiveness =1.000pitch_stability =1.400roll_stability =1.200yaw_stability =1.000elevator_trim_effectiveness =1.000aileron_trim_effectiveness =1.000rudder_trim_effectiveness =1.000##Locate these entries (with wrong values) in your AIRCRAFT.CFG file and insert the above entries in their place. The MOI's greatly affect handling of the aircraft and the pitch and roll stability parameters are needed to avoid shimmering at high altitude/speed at higher simulation rates, as well as toning down the nose hunting the flight director in certain speed hold modes.I believe this should fix most of your problems (but still won't make the airplane behave like a stock FS plane where you can do the approach at 200 knots, kick up the boards and land on a flight deck carrier). The Delta PW version I downloaded two days ago DOES actually have these values correct, just like the way you posted.Anyway, even with that data in its place with the right values, I'm experiencing the problem of idle taxi with park brakes on... it's very subtle, but enough to run into the terminal building if some delay is presented (and if I've happened to start the engines already).Also, the descents are not in idle thrust (VNAV SPD).Other than those, I find the bird very nice to fly... although I haven't tried V1-cuts or other single-engine situations yet.Tero PPL(A)

February 13, 200323 yr Hi Iz,Perhaps it is possible that some good intentioned person(s) at IFDG has edited the config file for whatever reason that is giving these problems? AND/OR... I like what Mike Bev (AAL327) suggested in that the "Realism Settings" in FS2002 are set differently by different users and this is causing the problems?? Perhaps you could post a screen shot of how you have your FS2002 settings/sliders set up? Mine are all maximum difficult. This seems to work well for the PIC...some say not. I don't beleive the PIC team has ever posted a suggested setting for FS2002 realism settings, that would be usefull to a lot of people IMHO.I have attached my config file text...the only change Imade
