March 7, 200323 yr I see alot of post on the Posky a/c, can someone tell me the benifits and differances of this over the 767PIC a/c. Which air file is better and does the Posky flight charateristics feel more realistic. Thanks
March 7, 200323 yr With the PIC767/Posky merge you are giving PIC a new exterior. What you use from the Posky aircraft are the model and texture folders not the air file etc. Look here for the instructions for merging. Your frame rate will double in spot view. FYI, Lee's merge file is the only one that merges PIC with posky correctly so I suggest you use it. here's the link: http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...rum=DCForumID33Best Wishes,Randy J. March 7, 200323 yr Does Lee have a merge file for the POSKY 764? I know it uses an updated cockpit like the 777's but since this is simulation, I can use the PIC panel. Thanks Eric

March 7, 200323 yr The POSKY aircraft are much more accurate models than the default PIC aircraft and are made in Gmax, therefore are more frame-rate friendly. The PIC panel is custom-coded and the airfile is in FS98 format to accomodate all the custom parameters, it will not work properly with any FS2000/FS2002 airfile. So the question as to which one is more accurate does not arise - if you want to use the PIC panel with full functionality, you have no choice. The merge file is available at the link posted above.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
March 7, 200323 yr Nope, for two reasons: (1) it came out about the time Warren Daniels of POSKY was attacking me in public last spring and (2) the 764 has a very different panel. It is mostly (1).Lee Hetherington (KBED)http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
March 7, 200323 yr There are of course a couple of little things that bug me about the Posky models, nose wheel does not turn, wing and tail lights raised above wings on the ground {this appears on wilco's too}, and the flaps 1 setting moves the flaps down more than the should be although this {flaps movement} seems not to affect anything. That being said, I always use Posky because they are GMAX and my frame rates SOAR! Notice that I have 20 more FPS with the posky!Best Wishes,Randy J. March 8, 200323 yr Are you aware that with my merge you can turn off the lights above the wings with the panel's "Wing" light switch? I turn it off on the ground and on in the air.Lee Hetherington (KBED)http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
March 8, 200323 yr It's not really a big deal to me except when taking screenshots. I guess this is hard coded and cannot be fixed? Would rather have a nose wheel that turns though :).Best Wishes,Randy J. March 8, 200323 yr Hi Randy, the nosewheel does turn, but you have to turn off the yaw damper. Also, I don't think nosewheel animation works in replay mode for any aircraft, so you'd have to take the screenshots while you're actually taxiing.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
