Hey guys,I'm having some problems with PIC/POSky with regards to the IRS and IRU systems. When I load up my flight and start the Cockpit Prepartion file, the cockpit is cold and all IRS are in the off position, except for the third one. It starts in the ALIGN position. When I have all systems powered up, and align the IRS, it all goes ok. But, after a few minutes the number three IRS automatically switches itself to the ATT position and this results in some problems, including the NO LAND 3 annunciation. When I flick it back to the ALIGN position the ALIGN annunciation starts flashing and then it flicks back to ATT.I have IRU drift and all that off in the preferences menu.Is there any solution to this problem?Any help is appreciated, thanks.John/AFG

Try turning it OFF for few secondsthen put it into align(normally you'd then have to enter the pos in the IRU entry display) or nav and wait long enough for the IRU's to align.Cheers

Thanks for the reply. I have tried that and it goes well for a few seconds but then it switches to ATT again, automatically.John/AFG

The IRS switch is not held magnetically in any position so it can't jump to any position by itself (real plane here...)What could be occuring is that all switches have a keyboard combination asssigned to them and you may be pressing the one that is tied to the left IRS switch accidently.Try to see if this happens if you-disable the key assignment for the left IRS switch-don't press anything on your joystick/keyboardGood luck,Mark

Are you using the 1.3 thrid party patch? I ask because you mention loading up your flight and this patch does not save the panel state to well. If you are not using the patch, make a flight, and once inside the aircraft, turn off everything and save this current state as the flight. Then load it and see if you have the same problems.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Hey Randy,I presume you mean the patch for the 3rd party hardware (an MCP I think?)? If so, I don't have it. However, I will try that tip you gave me.Thanks for the help!John/AFG

Please forgive is this is a dumb one, but....Make sure your aircraft does not move an inch until the allignment process is complete. If you are using a pushback or slew mode, that will thow it all out of wack.I have the allignment duration set at 2 minutes instead of the full 10 minutes. When I get in the cockpit, I turn each of the three IRU's to "OFF" then back to the centre position "NAV"...the allignment is complete in 2 minutes. You can see the allignment period countdown if you turn the IRU selector on the OVHD panel to "HDG".Hope this helps.Rob.

Thanks for your input Rob. I did a flight today and everything seemed to being ok. Got all three IRS alligned, but then disaster struck. Hit shift+p and the right IRU flicked itself to ATT. And yes, the allignment was definitely complete before I commenced pushback. With regards to flicking the switches off and back to NAV when starting... Once PIC is loaded on my machine I start one of the situation files, usually KSFO delivery flight, to get me into a cold and dark cockpit. The IRUs are in the OFF position here so I'm not sure what you're suggesting will work. I presume you start off your PIC flights with a cold and dark cockpit too from one of the situation flights?John/AFG

Tried your suggestion earlier Randy, no luck I'm afraid. :-(John/AFG

I never use the boxed start up situations. Start FS with a default aircraft, select the PIC767, set up the aircraft where you want to start at, save the flight. Next time you start FS, simply select the flight you saved.I think the boxed situations for the 767 were originally desinged for FS2000 (pre FS2k2 patch)....maybe that has something to do with your problems.Rob.

Rob,I have used these situation files previously with FS2002 and they went without a hitch. But now that you mention it, I might start my flight with a default aircraft and then switch to PIC and then start my homemade panel configuration situation.I seem to recall that some addons work better when you do this.John/AFG

Hmm maybe exactly the SHIFT + P combination is causing the IRS to jump to ATT?Go into PIC's keyboard assignment menu and check to see if this combination is assigned to anything!Another option: set pushback to a different key combination and see if this still happens.Or, don't use pushback at all :-)Regards,Mark

Good suggestion Mark, I'll examine that ASAP. Although, I noticed that it shifts to ATT the moment I open the standby instruments too, shift+3.John/AFG

Well, just tried the above suggestions and reinstalled PIC for the third time, still nothing! :-(I still can't believe nobody else is having this problem?I have another thought though, my FS2002 installation is on a partition of it's own. So what I could so is format this partition, install FS2002 and PIC and see what happens... There could be another addon I have installed that is causing a conflict or something.Thoughts?John/AFG
