May 13, 200323 yr Good News.Ernie's FSBUILD 2 Has been released by www.simmarket.comPrice is 29 euros.I have just purchased my copy. Download size is 24 meg via direct download. Registration Key is also sent to you via email in your product receipt.
May 13, 200323 yr You beat me Mark! When selecting an aircraft in FSBuild 2.0, there are 7 (seven) 767s to choose from. For PIC, select the "B767-300 w/767PIC ADDON". This is the one with the burn and performance tables I tweaked specifically for the us. It is tuned to a cost index of 90.Mike Bevington
May 13, 200323 yr Thanks for the advice Mike.I am trying to work my way thru tutorial 1, and have stumbled a little. How do I add an airway section to the Route. I cannot find the ATR button.
May 13, 200323 yr >I am trying to work my way thru tutorial 1, and have stumbled a >little. How do I add an airway section to the Route. I cannot find >the ATR button. To add an airway section in plan mode, you select the airway, then its waypoints will display in the route waypoints box on the right.Right mouse click on the start waypoint, and select the 'From' menu item. Then select the end waypoint, right mouse click and select the 'To' menu item. The 'from, via, to' boxes should display the route segment. The press the white button to the right of the 'from, via,to' boxes to insert that route segment into the flight plan. The ATR button is actually the white button with the green less than sign, its to the right of the 'from,Via,to' boxes. It was previousl;y labeled ATR (for add to route), I guess I need to update the tutorial.Regards.Ernie.
May 13, 200323 yr Ernie,FSBuild 2 on initial impressions looks an excellent piece of software.I found the tutorial to be pretty helpful in getting me started.Ilooked thru the user guide and found the function of the green button. The FSBuild window was running maximised and the From Via To buttons and the green ATR button were hidden from view by the task bar.Have posted another small problem that I am having in your support forum.
May 13, 200323 yr I agree with Mark. Nice piece of software and pretty user friendly. I was able to plan my first flight (YPPH-YSSY) without resorting to the tutorial :( Thanks for all your work Ernie, I know this will be something I use a lot. And you too Mike for giving us the 767PIC numbers.Ben
May 14, 200323 yr What 767 do you use if using just Lee's POSKY/PIC merge? I have no idea what addon MB is talking about with the CI of 90? Eric
May 14, 200323 yr Same FSBuild selection for the aircraft if POSKY or any other aircraft texture used with PIC. The performance table and burn table is based on the PIC (767_Pilot_in_Command_Wilco_Publishing.air) file and the aircraft.cfg file with the required sections for working with PIC. I have personally been using two different POSKY models and also a couple of custom jobs. Since they all use the same flight dynamics in the form of the default PIC airfile (now with the taxi mod), it does not matter which one I fly. They all have the same performance as far as flight planning goes. The CI of 90 means "Cost Index" of 90 which is selected on the PERF page during preflight. That yields a cruise speed of about Mach .80Now if anyone is using POSKY or other flight dynamics, I could not begin to guess what the burn rates at given GRWT and altitude are. But after all that has been discussed with merging PIC and POSKY along with the convienience of Lee's Merge Program, I doubt that many are still out there with mismatched performance files.Hope this helps,MikeB
May 14, 200323 yr Commercial Member Question on this before I go ahead and order a copy:Are the DPs and STARs being updated with the actual cycles? I noticed that it links you to navdata.at for the database updates, but those don't include terminal procedures. Just want to make sure this is gonna give me an always current list of DPs and STARs...Ryan Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
May 14, 200323 yr That's a pretty tall order Ryan. With the constantly changing situation with regard to SIDs and STARS, there is no way of "always" having a current list. But moreover I think I understand the sprit of your question. Let me give a partial answer and perhaps Ernie will expand.First off, FSBuild does not have a "complete" list of SIDs and STARS. It has a lot of them but certainly not anywhere near all of them. This has not been a problem for me because most of the locations I fly to do have procedures in FSBuild 2.0. For the ones that don't, I just refer to the charts I have (which are a year out of date anyway). Second, A major thing to remember is that fuel planning is only minimally affected by a SID or STAR, which you can never count on flying anyhow. And, (I know you know this so understand I am talking to the masses here) a pilot, even virtual pilots, should not try to fly a procedure off a flight plan without the chart anyway.Third, I believe Ernie mentioned something about working on something to address updated procedures, but he will need to confirm or deny that one.MikeB
May 15, 200323 yr Bought my copy. Love the changes.I'm still going thru the tutorials to get the feel of the features.I've always used FSBuild for all PIC flights.
May 15, 200323 yr I wasn't even aware that FSBuild 2 had been released. Looks good...the features list is impressive.EDIT*sigh*
