weather radar in PIC2???

Featured Replies

Hi,First let me tell you that I have no idea whether a wx radar will be included in PIC v2. However, I would like to make clear here in this forum that there are a couple of weather radars working well under FS9. The first one is FSFlightMax which shows actual true weather echoes on a radar page. Some may argue the program was developped for FS2002 (so was PIC and its patch) and that it requires ActiveSky or FSMeteo to run. OK but it is a true and accurate weather radar. For further info on FSFlightMax have a look at the forum here in Avsim. The second weather radar will be released before year end I understand and is named AS2. It is the logical developement of the excellent ActiveSky application. AS2 will reproduce true radar echoes on a radar gauge. The way it will work is that Activesky will save a txt file with weather infos which will be read by a dll and represented in a gauge. This will allow other developers to access the txt file to develop their own applications which may require weather information. So at this point yes the PIC v2 developpers will have access to weather inforamtion which can be translated into a weather graphic representation if they want to take advantage of AS2. Have a look at this thread in the ActiveSky Forum for further details: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=5323&page=I am sorry Van but being a long time beta tester for weather applications and FSFlightMax's forum co-moderator I felt I had to bring these clarifications here.Michael

http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/49716.gifOkay, mister, pull it over there. There are a few freaking rules in this forum. here's a couple:1. Got a question, do a search first.2. Have you tried searching the forum yet?3. Still no luck? Can't find what you're looking for by searching the forum?4. Ask a question - but make sure it's about the PIC767 for FS2000 or 2002.Wow! I love the power of the flashing lights!Super CopDS 3339http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
