January 7, 200422 yr Mark,Not for Finnish customers ? :). Btw, I left an "email" via Simavionics site yesterday, wonder if it got through ??Tero PPL(A)
January 7, 200422 yr Unfortunately Not.This offer only applies to North American Customers who pre order. However one of the options being considered for shipping is Air Freight - this looks like costing approx half the price of Express package Shipping (FEDEX/UPS/DHL). Do Finnair fly to YYZ from EFHK?Do any foreign carriers fly into EFOU? You would need to collect from the airline's cargo offices if the Air Freight option was used. Will check with Haroon about the email. I only help with support questions and being a moderator on the simavionics website.
January 7, 200422 yr How about this... I do not live in the U.S. but I wanted sent to my cousin in the U.S, will that be Ok??THanks.Roberto
January 7, 200422 yr Roberto,That would work - yes you could take advantage of the free shipping offer doing it this way.
January 7, 200422 yr Glad to be of help. When the time comes to pay, full details will be taken then of the shipping address.
January 8, 200422 yr Hi,Looks great ...and sounds frankly to good to be true !!Ok,...looks like us on the other side of the pond will have topay for the shipping. If the product is as good as it looks well...no big deal ! Does anyone know how long it will take for simavionics to start shipping ? I'm quite sure that they could end up with quite a few orders. Also I'm just a little skeptical about the price (I have seen the site)...I saw a replica throttle consol for the B737 on the simware website (simw.com) and the price of that unit is approx 1290 Euros(1960 US $). It seems to be constructed using similar metal and also uses USB ports. What could justify such a difference in price ?Perhaps in the case of the 737 throttle the constructors are not expecting high sales...Just a few questions before taking the plunge !Happy landings.
January 8, 200422 yr Should be available for shipping some time in February. The price is genuine - no need to be sceptical. The unit at simware costs 2700 EURO.The unit in the link below costs approx $10000 USD.http://www.epmm.com.au/sim/part_quadrant3.htmA few improvements have been made since the prototype photo was taken. These include the addition of Gates at the Flaps 5 and Flaps 20 positions.Air freight is being looked at as a means of shipping to countries outside the USA. This should provide a good reduction to the shipping costs.
January 8, 200422 yr No problem.FYI Air Freight works out at about half the price of FEDEX/DHL/UPS.Lufthansa have quoted the same approx price for shipping to ZRH as to FRA. You would need to collect from the airline's cargo office.
January 8, 200422 yr I believe the price reflects the true nature of the hobby. Built by sim nuts, for sim nuts, charging a reasonable price to make it afforadable, with out making us all poor at the same time. It is a beautiful thing to do a good job and allow all involved in the hobby to enjoy with out greed for money. It's the Canadian way :)Kuddos to simavionics! I hope they win an AVSIM award in 2004!!!
