June 3, 200422 yr Hi everybody...I installed the TCAS guage and when I started up FS, I got a message like : "Not compatible with this version of flight simulator. Run or not." It was referring to the Version 7 TCAS .dll file. I hit yes at first and FS ended. Then I restarted FS and hit the no button. Everything loaded fine, but I don't know if it will still work correctly. So, will it be OK? Thanks for the help...Michael Catalfamo
June 4, 200422 yr I'll bet the $0 you paid for it that you installed TCAS2v7.dll in the Modules subfolder rather than the main FS folder. If so, please read installation instruction #1.Lee Hetherington, PP-ASEL (KBED)
June 4, 200422 yr Don't worry about it. You're not the first, and you won't be the last. If I knew how to configure a real installer, I would use one.Lee Hetherington, PP-ASEL (KBED)
June 4, 200422 yr >Stupid me! I guess I owe you $0.00 :-lol >Thanks, Mike Catalfamo DAL1521Hey Mike,I did the same thing (hmmm - might have been the *first* that Lee eluded to in his response to you!!! ;-)).So, I gave Lee $0.00, and a virtual steak and a virtual beer to go with it!-michael

June 26, 200421 yr Hi,After loading TCAS, I get a message from FSIUPC that one program using it is not registered. I have 2 programs registered, including PMDG 737. How do I make FSUIPC cooperate with TCAS, I currently see no TCAS info displayed, and it is working properly to the best of my knowledge. Thanks Regards, Opher Ben Peretz
June 27, 200421 yr I can't even get far enough to "Load" the gauge...FS9 does not recognize the .gau as valid...See this post for detail's: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...24907&mode=fullSteve
June 30, 200421 yr The only ways I could see FS9 not seeing the gauges as valid are:(1) you're using an old version of the gauge and not the one in ILH_TCAS_v4.zip or(2) you do not have TCAS2v7.dll in your main FS9 folder (not modules subfolder).Modified versions of my gauge are likely not FS9 capable and based on much older code (i.e., don't even have the !Logic subgauge). I have authorized only a single modification to my gauge so far, and it has not yet been released.Lee Hetherington, PP-ASEL (KBED)
June 30, 200421 yr Lee, Thanks for the reply and I assume that you saw the post I referenced that had the 4 version's listed. The version that I am using is (according the the properties of the .gau) 4.0.1.0...is this correct? From looking at the PMDG panel, look's like the version's 1.0.16.0 are for them and I have NOT used them with the modified 757 panel I am trying to set up your gauge in.....so, (1) I am using version 4.0.1.0 which is the version that I downloaded with ILH_TCAS_v4.zip from avsim.com.(2) I have verified that TCAS2v7.dll and TCAS2v7.ini are located in my main FS9 folder and NOT in the module's folder. The TCAS2v7.dll is 140KB in size, dated 4/11/2004The ILH_TCAS.gau is 696KB in size and dated 5/24/2004I have a registered version of FSUIPC version 3.22.Even tried to put an {oldModules} statement in fs9.cfg, but did not help with either the .dll or the .gau.Steve ParkKSDFP.S. I am using the "No CD" version of FS9.exe (504KB - 7/3/2003) instead of the orginal.
June 30, 200421 yr ILH_TCAS.gau from ILH_TCAS_v4.zip requires the TCAS2v7.dll from that zip file, not the earlier one that PMDG installs. My gauge makes use of a newer interface in TCAS2v7.dll and would fail to run properly without it. It sounds to me like you are not using the correct TCAS2v7.dll.(I built the TCAS2v7.dll installed by PMDG and know what is in it and what is not. The newer TCAS2v7.dll should work fine with PMDG.)You should not need any OldModules entries in fs9.cfg. The gauges and DLL are all FS9-compatible as-is, including the "No CD" version.Lee Hetherington, PP-ASEL (KBED)
July 1, 200421 yr Thank's Lee, That was the problem..don't know why that .dll did not overwrite the older one when I copied it to the main FS9 folder.Steve
