Funny you mentioned that... I'm in my own DR hell right now. In fact, half of the 9 months of training involves dead reckoning. Argh!!! And yes, it feels like learning a dead language. They got rid of Celestial nav a couple of years ago. What aircraft were you a NFO on?? Well I believe it was Lee who created the first Landing panel for PIC Paul. Phil G had a great cockpit picture which I based my first one on which Tero liked a lot although most of the old timers did not care for these modified panels which is why I created the default looking one that had landing lights and rain on the windscreen. PMDG did not base anything on these views because their Approach panel is "lacking" a clear over the glare panel view and the landing panel has no gauges, if anything it looks more DF like IMO.
