Website for V2

Featured Replies

Hi,With the imminent release of V2, is there any site that has the details etc?The only thing I have seen is a video and a report from Jay at the conference. Does V2 exist and can we see anything more substantial?cheersDrayton

Drayton, all that Flight 1 and LDS have let us see so far is the video, and the reports from those who were lucky enough to see it at the Avsim conference. I think the fact that there is a video and that it was previewed/announced by F1 at the Avsim conference is a good inidcator that it does exis.Suppose the rest is up to F1 now that they have significantly whetted everyone's appetite.

Imminent?I think its schedueled for spring or so...Please be patient...Boaz...

The end of the video says "Autumn 2004".

There was a lot of information on http://www.pic767flyingclub.com/index3.html, and it was called the unofficial LDS767 homepage. I don't know if it is only temporarily down or if it has been removed. One of the things that stood on the page was: LDS ON VATSIM INAUGRIAL---You are invited to join with other LDS763 pilots on VATSIM Network for the inaugrial flight on October 31, 2004For me this sounds like it will be released by October 31, but I'm not expecting to get it that soon. Most important thing is that it will be a good product when it comes

This was just a test website and was never meant to be public.Wade

No, he's not kidding... and don't call him Shirley!LOLNah, I dunno... even if comes out in Autumn, I won't have much time to play it since I'm at Air Force Navigator training! I can't wait to work on my own version of a VFR/Landing panel like last time.Best Regards,Phil Geddes

I'm still enjoying your original mods in some of my 'further modified' panels and still using some of your sound set! ;-)BTW: Does the AF still do Navigator Training at Mather? Good luck with the training.-michael

No, we were told at the conference that release was slated for "before the end of the year." I think a pre-Xmas release is what they have in mind.RG

Might be dating ourselves a bit. Kinda like saying record and having young people look at you like you made up a word.

That would be the one I'm still using Phil, so I will definitely keep an eye out for any version you create for V2, always assuming it's necessary of course. Maybe V2 will come with one built in, in the same way that PMDG's NG737 does (I've always wondered if they got the idea from you :-).Paul Croft10 miles SE of EGLL

Hey Michael,I'm also hoping to update that soundset as well. Of course I'll investigate deeply what's already contained in V2... wouldn't make sense to recreate something the old PIC team has already done well!Nav training has been at Randolph AFB, San Antonio TX for the last 7 or 8 years, I believe. Great place to go flying... although, when they were at Mather, the Nav students used to fly a Global mission to Hawaii (that would've been a blast...). Navigator School is more work than I ever did in college, so my 767 projects will have to play second fiddle to my training, unfortunately!By the way, if anyone has any questions about navigator training, feel free to ask-- I'll answer any that I'm allowed to, lol.Best Regards,Phil GeddesHere's another blast from the past!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/92292.jpg

Do they still teach you DR (Dead-Reckoning)?? Probably an outdated mode of Navigation but who knows they may still teach it along with celestial Nav...I went through Nav. school at Pensacola way back and down yonder as they say down South..Good luck in your pursuit.Regards, jack
