Anyone know these fellows? They're new to me and yet I know they're hosting at least one of my files without permission. That wouldn't bother me were they out-and-out freeware people, but they are one of those sites that have "membership" access in addition to "free" access. After registering with them, I find it absolutely impossible to gain access using the "free" route. Anyone had better luck, or is this an intentional ploy .... ?They seem to have some sort of link with DSB Design in that they host the latter's downloads ... maybe. It's a laborious connection and without being able to get in, it's hard to tell! But I'd like to know ...Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Looks like a scam to me - any website that uses the term 'super user' must arouse suspicion. The Guam scenery available for those users does not appear up to scratch with a lot of the freeware offerings we've seen lately.I just wouldn't bother as a user, as a designer however, I would keep a careful eye on them.Cheers,Gosta

Managed to get in today ... there's nothing there except freeware aircraft that are freely available on Avsim, as far as I can see. There are several of my own repaints. However, pop-ups appear saying that there are "other" aircraft and scenery available if you join up and pay yer munny.Hmmm ... I wonder what those are, now. Perhaps we have another FSPlanet on our hands.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

We, (meaning the Beta Team) for the B-52 that Kotaro A. found that our work also was on this site . . .last I heard K had demanded that it be removed from the site, as they modified the aircraft and didn't even give credit to us for our work. I'm not sure if it was ever taken down, however they offered us 'free' a super member, or whatever pass's if we let it stay . . . to this point we still havne't gotten the pass's or any other response from the site. I asked Kotaro the other day what the determination was for our aircraft, however I have yet to recieve a reply.Clay

Yes, we know that, Zhe Xu. The point we're concerned about is the charging for freeware files. The 'free' access is limited.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Hi.I was stupid enough to join Planesimulation after the promises of exciting downloads, free 'bonus' scenery when you join, gigabytes of downloads etc. etc. etc. When I first accessed the sight after joining, I discovered that there were very few downloads available for FS2004, most of those available were already on other 'free' sites.I have been trying to contact them now for a week to answer a few simple, but polite questions. NO REPLY!!! Gives a very clear impression of a 'take your money and run' scenario!I spent over a week trying to gain access to their 'free' area, no success, so it does not suprise me that you have been unable to gain access that way. However, believe me when I say that it is not worth it!I would VERY strongly recommend that everyone should steer clear of this site and stick to the 'quality' sites that are available!!!!!!!!!!!!:-fume :-grr

Hi Adam. Many thanks for that, I'll give it another go. I have tried to email this company several times over the last week with no success. I least I now have a point of contact.Appreciate your help, thank you.Sean.:-)

Mark, commiserations on the file situation with these guys. Hopefully, when we bring the mirror online, this will cause these bottom feeders to pull up tent and move to another hobby.P.S., you have one two many images in your signature. :) Tsk, tsk. Please modify.

That site's been around for awhile, at least in the three years or so that I've been simming. I've never joined, but there are a few tutorials on the site I've found useful.I don't think there's anything there one can't get easier elsewhere.BlairCYOW
