October 14, 200223 yr http://www.simpit.de/b767cockpit/throttle2/page_01.htmwood, aluminum (aluminium) and plastic construction.4 potentiometers, 5 switches.those will eventually get connected to a mcp747 expansion board.as i don't have the expansion board yet it's currently not running till i get two of those fancy gameport --> usb converters. real soon now!if i'm lucky i'll be able to get complete 767 cockpit dimensions within the next 2 weeks. as in me, a camera, a metering tape and an actual real live cockpit. this will then get posted on my page, right below the a320 dimensions.regards andreas.
October 14, 200223 yr My dream throttle quadrant! You have done a GREAT job!!!Even though I can't build a cockpit at home (no room), I fancy those commercial throttle controls very much. But no money, no honey...Would it be too much to ask for some diagrams, schematics, drawings, anything that will help me build a similar quadrant?I know of electronics, so that part is not really a problem. The actual construction is a problem... Here in Greece we have so very limited supply of parts! Imagine that it's very difficult to find even good linear pots!!!!You can contact me privately if you wish.Thank you very much,George DorkofikisAthens, Greece
October 16, 200223 yr I would be very interested in your mechanical drawings for this unit! Nicely done! Ray S. Check out my aviation portfolio: http://scottshangar.net
October 16, 200223 yr Hello Andreas,Very good work!!!Please send me an email ([email protected]), if possible with information that can help me to build the throttle, and also if you will have the 767 cockpit dimensions.Best regards OAL331Athens-Greece
October 26, 200223 yr Andreas,Wonderful job! I am myself starting up on a throttle quadrent, but it will be 4 throttles. I know many others have already asked you for the construction details, but I too would love to get some more details from you, if nothing else then just some pictures with the top covers removed. I am good at carpentry and electronic circuitry so don't need dimensions etc. just need ideas, especially about how did you add resistence to the throttle movement and, if I guessed correctly from the pictures, you have provided the thrust reversers. Thanks,Pramod
November 12, 200223 yr Andreas,On my search for a good throttle model I came across yours.Prototype? You're kidding! It's a stunner. I had already an idea for the flaplever trick more or less along your lines. But I'm very interested in the reverse thrust thing. If you have drawings of the thing, or pictures with an open top I would be obliged. Kind regards,Stephan Haas
November 28, 200223 yr So... :-)Is there ANY chance to share the construction plans/drawings/diagrams with the rest of us?I don't mind a negative answer... Just to know if I'm to keep my hope high, or start crying... :-)Cheers,George DorkofikisAthens, Greece
November 28, 200223 yr sorry, forgot.as you can see nothing too complicated.size can easily be adapted to suit almost any needs.i have yet to interface the flap and spoiler levers.but real soon now! http://www.simpit.de/b767cockpit/preview/thrott_bot.jpgbig version 1.3 mb at http://www.simpit.de/b767cockpit/files/thrott_bot.zipconstruction pics at: http://www.simpit.de/b767cockpit/throttle/page_01.htmregards, andreas
November 29, 200223 yr Andreas,Thank you for this picture as well. The "plan" in my head is growing.Kind regards,Stephan Haas
November 29, 200223 yr Thanks Andrea!I see you use sliding potmeters. How do you transfer the movement of the throttle levers to the potmeters? That's my big problem!I was thinking to make them aluminium but I guess I'll use wood instead as you did. It sure is easier to handle/shape.Also, an idea... I'm cooking it in my mind but it will probably require a digital control over the throttle potmeters. The reverse thrust lever could first activate the micro switch as you have done so to put the throttles to idle, and then a small rotating potmeter directly attached to the reverse lever to simulate variable reverse thrust. A digital control could recognize if the input of the main sliding potmeter is at idle and if the reverse potmeter was giving any input. With a digital control it could send the proper signals to the gameport or USB. And with the use of FSUIPC's function to set the limits of the throttles it should work.I have very long time since I last worked with electronics but I think this is possible.Any electronics gurus in here to give us your opinion on this?Is this possible?Thank you for the pics and your helpFly safe,George DorkofikisAthens, Greece
December 2, 200223 yr My mind is trying to come up with a really working reverser... but it means using gears, and i don't like it...I was wondering: what did you use for the flaps lever construction?Did you find spare parts that suited your needs or did you recycled anything?Really good work!
