November 11, 200520 yr Some years ago, there was many topics and posts about Fsbus. These days, i noticed that only a few people answered in the thread with the new version of Fsbus.Do you still use Fsbus, or we are only a few people here? You don't have questions, problems with Fsbus to share with other people?Have you made the new version to work with blank displays? It's very quiet here about Fsbus :-(Please reply about FsBus ......ThanksEddie ArmaosAthensAthens-Greece
November 11, 200520 yr I think most people that made the 1st generation displays are now waiting for the NG displays.I did the same, after I made the com/led/key , I contimued working on other parts of my pit. Now that the new IO cards are released, I think FSBUSNG will get more post on the several forums.regardsNorberthttp://home.wanadoo.nl/norbert.bosch/

The reason we are quiet is because it just works. :)On my personal project, I am between fsbus (still have it) and IOCards. IOCards has several good sides, but I am struggling with rotaries currently - the ones I have do work, but iocards drops out when I turn the knob faster. FSBUS has no problems whatsoever regarding that. I hope to resolve it in the future, I am now working on other stuff in the sim as well. Has anyone actually found rotaries that work perfectly with iocards?//Tuomas
November 11, 200520 yr Hi Tuomas And i have problem with the rotary encoder and rotary switches when i turn them fast. Is slow turn is working very good.I use the rotary encoder and switches from FDS site.If someone knows what happen please to tell as.I post in the Opencocpits forum my problem (no answer). You know someone if we can use both carts? FSBUS and IOcarts together?RegardsLambisGreecehttp://www.projectmagenta.com/lambis777project/
November 11, 200520 yr Hi,I'm very pleased with IOcards plus the SIOC software. The hardware is very reliable (no errors sofar, after 1,5 year). Support is good if you're willing to search fora, and I have no problems with rotaries at all ... I use the FDS rotaries, connected directly to the MC. Even when I turn them fast they work perfectly, so I'm a little suprised about other people having problems. Are you sure you have got the right ones? At my web site you may find some information about rotaries and IOcards.I also use FDS rotary switches (45 degrees per detent) and they also work flawlessly over here, and for your information: I'm not a share holder of FDS ;-) Nicowww.nicokaan.nl
November 12, 200520 yr Hi EddieI'm using both FSBUS and IO Cards. Both have their own attributes.Any problems I have had with FSBUS have always turned out to be my of my own doing (solder dags etc.)Flashing is still a bit iffy....I have one FSKEY board that flashes every time but other boards (Display and LED) that either don't flash at all or are intermittent to flash (no apparent reason?), yet function perfectly. So I do all my flashing on one FSKEY board and have no problems. If I have any ongoing problem with FSBUS it is the occasional switching of something of its own accord or when something else is activated. However not often enough to be a problem and probably due to noise picked up by long cable runs.It is also necessary to provide separate power supplies if you have many boards scattered around as I do.Be interested in other users comments on their experience with FSBUS.Generally though I think we don't hear as much because as someone else remarked...it just works!
November 13, 200520 yr Hey Eddie,I'm using Classic FSBus also. Haven't had any problems to ask about. I have the Com Led Key AD and they just work.I will have question to ask soon as I'm building the display and Redecs to populate my newly made MCP.David
