starting and controlling FS9 from a remote system

Wondering what other builders are doing for starting and controlling FS9 from a remote host. In a cockpit environment, I certainly do not want to attach keyboard and mouse to the remotely placed FS9 system, specially considering FS9 host will be connected to a projector. I tried windows remote desktop, which works beautifully for all other tasks, but unfortunately FS9 cannot be launched from a remote desktop. Other option is to use a kvm switch, which is no better. I know FS9 can be automatically lauched following the bootup and login. But still one needs mouse and keyboard for the further selection.Another option I am thinking about is to run a automation script that launches the app, automatically clicks through the dialogs and sets up the plane. That too seem challenging considering the varying selection choices involved in setting up the plane. So, wondering how others are interacting with thier remote FS9 app? thankssri

I use RAdmin for remote desktop. Others use Vadmin, which is almost free I think. Have you looked at using FSAutoStart and put it in your startup folder? I haven't used it for some time, but it might have an option to boot into the scenerio you want. Just some things to look at for you.Rodney

>try synergy on sourceforge.net.Thanks. Synergy is working beautifully with FS9 in full-screen mode. It's a great joy to see a small piece of software doing wonders..Good bye to all my keyboards and remote desktop solutions.

There is a fs9.cfg option to disable the splash screen, this causes Fs to load up the default flight and start directly. We use that in our c172 sim, but I dont have the config here so I dont remember exactly. Maybe someone else knows?//Tuomas

Go to C:Documents and Settings"USERNEMA"Application DataMicrosoftFS9 and find the fs9.cfglocate the section [sTARTUP] and change the SHOW_OPENING_SCREEN= from 1 to 0like this[sTARTUP]DEMO=0LOADSIM=1LOADWINDOW=1SHOW_OPENING_SCREEN=0STARTUP_DEMO=regardsEddie ArmaosAthens

Yep, that was the one. Then it should directly load up the default flight and not show the startup "choose flight" stuff.//T
