May 23, 200620 yr Hi,I've nearly finished my first freeware glass cockpit for the ATR72-500 (FSUIPC registered needed). It has its own network engine (then no need for payware like WideFS or similar) and screen positioning through a simple INI file. Some details of the "PFD" (Primary Flight Display) are to complete yet but if someone is interested I could send the 5 panels via e-mail.When everything will be completed I will upload them here on AVSIM.Next job will be the development of a glass cockpit for the MD-80.I attached a screenshot of all the instruments for the ATR72-500.Regards,Bob
May 30, 200620 yr Thanks for the compliments, Magic. This message just to let you know that the panel is available on the AVSIM library, "FS2004 Panels" section (search for "atrengpanel.zip" or among the panels for ATR ordered by date).Hope you will appreciate it.Regards,Bob
May 31, 200620 yr Well done, they look awesome, great to see someone looking after the middle area :)When I get back into building mine (after buying a house) I'm deciding on either a 767 (level d has the best options for the home cockpit - and I've even got magenta - but doubt I would use it).Or something smaller (more likely to be used) like a bae146 or I could look at the atr with your lovely gauges.
May 31, 200620 yr Thank you for your nice words.Well...I'm a "turboprops" lover so I wanted to start with the ATR72-500 that is my favourite...actually I made this glass cockpit for myself but then I thought "why don't give it to the community?".Then a project started with a friend of mine to give builders the alternative to build cockpits of aircrafts that are not the usual "Boeing" or "Airbus".In fact we are currently gathering information about the MD-80 instrumentation to develop a new set of "glass cockpit" gauges (freeware of course) for this aircraft.I don't know when this new work will be completed but I will let the community know when they will be available. In the meantime I'm working also on the last ATR gauge (HSI) to complete the set.Regards,Bob
