January 28, 200719 yr Amasing job ,guys --hopefully the fms will be available soonWe realy need this software--- thank you
January 29, 200719 yr Hello folks i have already downloaded the manual to set this up, and im looking foward to it.i do have a question and i know that you are offering it for free and i dont mind, but what is the differants between your software and project majenta's, i was real close to buying there software , i just cant justify that much money for just glass software, and yours is free, im wondering am i missing something here , i tried project magenta,s demo software and it seems to be no differant from yours.so why would i spend close to 700.00 dollars for theres and nothing for yours, what am i missing here, and im not tring to be funny.like i said i was real close to getting the software from project magenta, but i rather get yours and spend the extra money on some goflight modules.thanks........Robert
January 29, 200719 yr The difference my friend is... 700USD !Apart from that, since it's freeware, or even shareware as the FMC will be (if I understood correctly), support may be limited to the free time and good will of the authors. In other words, you use it as it is, which is quite fine by me (although they came out a bit late for me as I have dumped the 737 for the 757/767).Thank you guys for your work! Looks very sexy!George DorkofikisAthens, Hellashttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.png
January 29, 200719 yr More or less, George got it !To be honest, right now Project Magenta is better, because it comes with everything, the FMC and EICAs included. The cost, you know. We just decided to start our own software after asking for a PM quotation.Well, we plan to finish also the FMC and EICAS, with easy link to inexpensive i/o cards (we already support IOCP connection, in order to easily link to IOCARDS). The idea is even if we ask for a small support in exchange of the FMC and EICAS, we have no plans to live from it :-), so it should'nt be expensive.Later why not an Airbus version ?Oliver at Cockpitware
January 30, 200719 yr I don't mind paying for OGS as long as a full functioning FMC is included.I also cannot justify the price for project magenta glass cockpit as I am only building a cockpit for personal use and don't need all that extra functionality like the instructor station.Do you have any plans for developing the Boeing system logic for overhead panel to work with MS flight Simulator? If not then how are you using the OGS glass cockpit with regards to fuel system and startup?
January 31, 200719 yr I FIND ALSO WONDERFULL THIS FREE SOFT , I'VE BEEN TESTING AND IT'S AWONDERFULL WORK, I PREFER TO PAY A COMPRENSIBLE RATE FOR HELP ALL THOSE FRIENDLY DEVELOPERS TO COMPENSATE THE TIME AND WORK IN ELABORATE THE SOFTWARE ( I CAN AFFORT PROF PRICES SOME "MAGENTA" , I JUST WAN ENJOY FLYING IN MY HOME-MADE COCKJPIT ) MANY THANKS TOCOCKPITWARE FOR YOUR WORK ..BEST REDGARDSJOSEP FERRER
February 1, 200719 yr Can this be used as a 777 setup with P8R FMC and it's other gauges? 10700k / Gigabyte 3060
February 6, 200719 yr This is awsome guys, great job, in hopes to keep this project alive, anything we can do?
February 11, 200719 yr >Hi everybody !>>This short message to mention that we released a new version>of our boeing glass cockpit freeware (PFD+ND+MCP) : OGS 1.11>This version includes IOCP server connection to FS, so it's an>"all freeware solution", plus other new functionalities and>bug fixes.Just thought I'd add that OGS 1.11 works with FSx as well as FS9.Not seeing any reference to FSx on the OGS forum I wondered whether it would. Low and behold it does.I coupled it up with FSUIPC and Navdata on a second networked PC and within 30 mins( spent understanding the conf file) I was flying around KSFO like a mad thing.I'm not into building a cockpit like most of you guys up here, but I like the idea of using multiple monitors and pcs to lessen the load on the main scenery monitor pc.Furthermore keystrokes on the networked pc directly affected the pc actually running FSx.Roll on the FMS and flight plan display!!!Ian
