Need help with this A300...

Featured Replies

Hey guys... I am enroute to KDTW from KRSW in this new SGA A300 with that nice panel, but for some reason my brakes didn't work when I taxied for departure. I have modified the aircraft.cfg correctly I think and so I am kinda puzzled why the brakes of all things aren't working. Also, is anyone doing an American or FeEx livery?Andrewhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/63574.jpg

Hi,A stupid question,...but did you read the complete manual before flying? It is essential that all systems are activated inorder to get that excellent panel to work properly. I bet that there are some switches on the system panel, which needs to be activated. ;-)And the most important thing of all,...You have to start the simulator with a default aircraft, before you select an aircraft with the A300 panel.Fly safe, Staffan AhlbergSweden/Stockholm/ESSAMD-11 Panel Team - Beta testerMy specs are:Dell Dimension 4600 P4/3.0 Ghz512 Mb DDR333 Dual channel memory128 Mb ATI Radeon 9800 ProCatalyst 3.9DirectX 9.0E171FPb Flat panel monitor 17"240Gb (2x120) 7200rpm HD

Maybe the HYD panel? It's a great panel, I just figures out all the features on the LAX to SFO run.Rick

Hey Andrew,I too had the same problem with the brakes. I read pretty thoroughly through the manual (wish I had a checklist for getting the order straight but I based the process off of other aircraft like the PMDG 737). Anyway, to explain the problem a bit more, I have full hydrolics power, no panel warnings. I hit regular, differential, or parking brakes and look at the gauge. Though FS says I'm holding the brakes, the brake pressure gauge shows the pressure rising according to how much brake I give in the pedal, but as soon as it's constant, it begins to drop back to 0, as if the pressure is leaking. This happens too if I set the parking brake, it just goes to full pressure and then back down, leaving me with no brakes. If anyone could find a solution, I would be grateful! (Of course, a nice UPS or FedEx paint would be nice too... ;-))-Cal

Having the same brakes problems despite lack of any evident hydraulics warnings. BTW, AA only flies the A300-600R (marginally longer fuse, higher MTOW and range, wingtip fences and differnet engines).Misha

I did figure out the brake problem. Staffan was right. You have to load another aircraft first and then load the A300 and it will work perfectly. Now all I have to figure out is the autoland. For some reason, it wants to touchdown left of the runway! Anyone know what I am doing wrong now?I know American only has the A300-600, but with this nice of an A300 out, I am willing to fly a somewhat fictational plane so that I can have that livery.Andrew
