October 7, 200223 yr jerrycwo4"Anybody had this problem? I installed the program and it looked and worked pretty good EXCEPT it made my Indicated airspeeds INCORREECT. Either I had to be going about 10 + MPH before the airspeed started off of zero (0), or when I stoped the aircraft the airspeed stayed at 12-19 mph. I don't like anything on my Fs2002 that is not 100 % correct, so I un-installed the program and went back to using "internet downloaded weather".After posting the above, I discovered the SAME results when only using the internet version: "REAL-WORLD WEATHER" ( gets the real world weather from the internet), so it appears to me now, that the incorrect airspeed problem was NOT caused by the "new weather program", but from some other cause.Other than the 'incorrect' airspeed problem, it workd fine. I think I'll try it out again and this time, NOT have the airspeed posted ( in RED at the top of the screen with 'shift/ z') when taxing.Didn't I recall a month or so ago, some one came out with a special program that automaticly sets the proper taxi speeds? Any one remember what the file name is or have a link for it? Thanksjerry
October 7, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi Jerry,The airspeed 'issue' you talk about is a function of FS simulating real world conditions. When you have a headwind, when you are still motionless on the ground, you DO actually have forward airspeed and this will be depicted on the airspeed indicator...Likewise, if you have a tailwind, your airspeed will 'lag' because you technically are not going through the air forward even though you may be travelling forward on the ground.FS exagerates this effect a bit and FSUIPC has some taxi wind options that will help make this better... Take a look in MODULES, FSUIPC, WINDS..-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
October 8, 200223 yr Howdy Jerry,You didn't say what plane you are using, but many airspeed indicators will not show any speeds until you have attained at least 40 knots on the ground. Donald E. Donovan Flying is the 2nd greatest thrill known to man The 1st is landing.
