November 8, 200223 yr The only store I remember seeing in NYC that sells die cast aircraft is a little comic shop that also sells models. Their annex next door has lots of die cast cars and some planes (Herpa, Dragon, Gemini), but the selction isn't very large. I don't remember the name of the store, but it was either on Thompson or one of the parallels West of Thompson and about two blocks north of Houston in the village (now thinking about it the name may be as simple as Village Comics). I think it may be listed in the model shop directory at the back of each issue of Fine Scale Modeler (which you should be able to find at any B&N or Borders). Hope this helps. Misha
November 8, 200223 yr Try The Red Caboose on 45th Street between 5th and 6th. Mostly a train shop but has a good selection of die casts and airplane kits. There used to be an antique toy dealership in the Village (Mercer St.?) that carried some harder-to-find items, like Western Models white metal built-ups. But I'm having trouble coming up with the name. As a rule model shops aren't a growth industry in the city -- online sources are probably better. Hope this helps.
