FS9 hangs when loading flight plan
That's cool.... As trivial as it may seem, the correct accents would be a very nice touch. I'm going to look into it. Thanks just FYI John, this has worked for me on my last two flights. Thanks.

FS9 hangs when loading flight plan
On my longer flights I dont sit in front of the pc, I let the autopilot handle it. So if I open the plan and walk away from the sim it will cancel the plan anyways because no one will answer ATC. Once I commit to the rest of the flight - that's when I open the plan. Now that I'm typing my response I'm realizing that I could proabaly load the plan like you say - just not contact ATC until I'm ready. Something to try! Thanks - I'll give this a try!

FS9 hangs when loading flight plan
I use FSNavigator to export flight plans to FS9. The general process when I fly longer flights is: Create plan Export to FS9 Let the sim fly the flightplan until just before the BOD Load up plan and allow ATC to bring me in More than half the time, FS9 hangs when I go to load up the plan via the ATC communication screen (tilda key). Luckily I use the save flight feature and can always go back, but it entails killing the sim, restarting, choosing the plan again (which always works this time) and continuing on. It's become somewhat annoying as FS isn't too quick to restart. Is anyone aware of a fix or a work around? Thanks Chris

Looking for Northwest Cargo repaints...
...for the Project Opensky 747-200 series. I'm looking for the special schemed logojets "Investing in Pacific Trade" and "Select 3-Speed Service" I had both at one time and I'm almost positive they were here at AVSIM before the hack. Thanks, I appreciate it. Chris

RIP: David "Opa" Marshal
Whenever I had a flightsim issue and came to the forums to search for answers, my search would always end up on a posting by Opa. While I may have exchanged some PM's with him, he helped me out in SO many more ways than he ever knew. I will miss him greatly. So long Dave...blue skies, thank you for making my FS experience what it is today and thank you for being a kind gentlemen. My thoughts are with his family.

Radius: Aircraft vs. Gate
I've done a bit of searching but couldn't find anything cut and dry. What is the difference between an aircraft radius vs. an airport gate radius?I have a handful of add-on airports that have private and/or military aircraft parking at gates. I want try to fix this. Which radius causes this?? I have the PAI/AIG list of suggested aircraft radius, but how do they correlate to whats showing for the gate radius? Thanks for any insight.Chris

Marsh Harbour by Flightsim Brasil
Does anyone have the freeware Marsh Harbour (MYAM) scenery that Flightsim Brasil put up on AVSIM awhile ago? Its no longer available here (due to the crash?) and I cannot locate it anywhere else.I believe its filename was 'FSB-MYAM-FS2004AVSIM.zip' or something like that. I would love to get this back into my virtual world. Message me and I'll provide my email. Thanks!Chris

Why do I get jagged edges?
yeah, it seems that everything is dependent on being able to use nHancer. I would have to believe that going forward more and more people will be using the 260+ drivers and therefore will need a new version of it. I can only hope and be patient. I'll still give it a tweak here and there to see if I can discover any way around this and if I do I'll make sure to post it. Again, thanks for the suggestions and any new ideas are more than welcome!

Why do I get jagged edges?
Thanks RJ, that sounds promising. I'm quite familiar with regedit, so I'm off to make some backups and give this a go.----well, things are obviously very different for me. First, I discovered that nvapps.xml is no longer used with the new drivers...I couldn't find it anywhere and did a bit of research. Then, I took a look in the registry and those lines are nowhere to be found. The combination of Windows7 and 260.+ drivers are my demise so far. I see the FS2004 profile in the nVidia control panel, just not sure how to delete it. More research awaits. Its sounding like the development (or lack thereof) of nHancer 2.60 is holding me hostage with this jagged line issue. Thanks for the suggestions, I'm open to any ideas

Why do I get jagged edges?
Thanks for that link RJ, I wonder if thats what my issue is. Problem is, I cannot get nHancer to run. Apparently since my card is relatively new it requires the latest drivers and nHancer doesnt like them. I try to run it and the opening screen appears and nothing happens. I read that nHancer 2.60 was being created at one point to run with the latest drivers, but I dont know when it will be available.Sounds like I might be stuck until 2.60 comes out. :(

Why do I get jagged edges?
Ok...my top resolution is 1920x1080 and its what I'm running at. Tonight I went back to the latest drivers (260.99) and toyed around with NVinspector a lot. Nothing has worked. Jagged edges prevail. I'm tempted to put my old 256mb ATI card back in. Both FIFA11 and Medal of Honor Airborne both look fantastic, its just FS9 that is giving me this issue.

Why do I get jagged edges?
I also run my resolution at 1920x1080x32. As I sit here at work, I'm not sure if thats the highest resolution the card will go, I'll check on that tonight. It IS the highest resolution that FS has listed in the sim. As for Nhancer, I am having the same issue as leostr. Apparently the GTS450 is a rather new card and will only run with relatively new drivers, therefore Nhancer doesnt run. I've installed it, tried to run it, get the opening screen and then it just goes away. I've also downloaded NVinspector and taken a look at it, but to be honest, I have NO idea what to change on it. Like you said, its a bit confusing. Do you have any tips on what to play around with in NVinspector?thanks!Chris

Why do I get jagged edges?
I've been simming a long time. Until recently I used my trusty Dell Dimension 4600 with 2.5g of RAM and 256mg ATI memory. FS9 ran pretty good, although I never visited places like London or New York for fear of a considerable lack of frame rates. Well the old girl finally gave up the ghost, and I upgraded to a Inspiron 570 with 6g of RAM and got myself an Nvidia GTS450 1gb video card. I couldnt wait to get FS9 reinstalled on this new machine!! For the most part, it hasn't disappointed. Frames are through the roof and London and New York are regular stops now. One issue I'm having is driving me nuts. I get jagged lines on my aircraft. I also get them on runways when viewing them at an angle, and I notice shimmering on some add-on scenery. On my old system I would just adjust the AA and bingo, gorgeous smooth aircraft textures. But not with this card. I've tried everything...all kinds of AA settings, AA off, went from VGA to DVI cable, different drivers, etc.. Sill jagged lines. I cannot get Nhancer to run with the drivers my video card require. Why would my old 256mb ATI card show me better graphics than my 1024mb nVidia card??? Is there anything else I can try to better things? Thanks, I do appreciate any help!

What causes "cartoonish" looking Nav lights?
huh... thats interesting. Now that I think of it, the aircraft I was checking out was the Opensky 737-700. It had the goofy looking nav lights.I remember on my original installation of FS2004 the nav lights looked like that (goofy), then about 8 months ago my FS got corrupted and I did a re-install and I was pleasantly surprised that my nav lights looked great!...even on the Opensky aircraft. Then just last month my entire system bit the big one. Now after the install on the new machine they look terrible...I mean, like large balls at the end of the wings.Maybe I'll dig up those FX files from the CD and see what they do.thanks for any and all info!Chris

What causes "cartoonish" looking Nav lights?
Greetings...I've recently gotten a new pc and am in the process of reinstalling FS2004. Fired up the sim to check out my progress and lo-and-behold, I had large, "cartoonish" looking circular nav lights. My old pc had nice, sharp looking realistic nav lights. I tried searching for a solution but came up empty. Any idea what causes this? Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?thanks!Chris

simple AI model question
just a quick question regarding AI models. i see that EvolveAI now has Embraer models for download. there are quite a few different models out there now, sometimes for the same type of aircraft. how do i know which are the better framerate performers? i have over 2,500 AI planes loaded, so good framerates are essential.would EvolveAI be a better fit than CDAI's models? are Aardvarks the best available? should i replace my CDAI Embraer's with EvolveAI's? any insight is appreciatedthxchris

its been awhile since i've ugraded...
i'm currently running AS2004.5 B193 and i just purchased the ASv6/ASG full version. from reading some of the other threads, it sounds like i run the unwrapper 1st and then uninstall the old version. is this correct?once the old version is uninstalled i can then remove any residual files?i'm also running FS SkyWorld2004. i believe this can also be removed?thx!lookin forward to getting this up-n-running!chris

new video card - on a budget
my video card crashed on me this weekend. since i wasn't in the market for a new one when it happened, i've been somewhat "out-of-the-loop" in knowing whats available now. i want to replace an ATI 9800pro 128Mb card, and i would like to upgrade, but i think i'm limited to around $200. is there any chance of getting a better card for that much? if not, what are we talking $$ wise?if anyone could give me some insight and info, i would greatly appreciate it.thxchris
