Recommendation for P4...

Featured Replies

:-grr ARRRRGH!!! So many options. I had a look at the link on the P4PE and it does look like a potential candidate. Hopefully there will be more info coming out about it, as that was the only piece of news I could find. Even the Asus site did not have any specs... but they did have something about a new board being released on 10/7 (maybe that is the one).Cheers!

I got my P4 2.53 yesterday but guess what, they sent me the oem instead of the retail boxed one I ordered.......AARRRRGGHHH!!!!!The replacement is coming tomorrow by courier....hopefully !!Bill :-wave

Hi John,Well I think the P4PE is on the top of my list. I have read some negative comments on the SiS board that I was considering which have now made me move that one from the top of my list. The only thing the P4PE doesn't have is AGP 8X support (which the SiS board had), but I'm not sure if that is that big of a deal.I am holding out on ordering the CPU until I order the MB... the prices have been slowly falling lately (maybe the 2.8 P4 will be a better value by then).:-beerchug Thanks!

John,Just curious if you have upgraded to the P4PE yet? If so, how's it performing (FS2002-wise)?Thanks!

Hi Bryan,No, I didn't bother. I got everything running to my liking on the P4B533, so I'll stick with it, atleast until the dual DDR boards come out :-hahBut others I know say it's an excellent board

Cheers,
