GeForce Ti4200 and DirectX 9

Featured Replies

Can anyone confirm if the GeForce Ti4200 is compatible with DirectX 9? I've downloaded the lastest NVidia detonator package and it doesn't seem to support it. And, unfortunately, there's no going back to DirectX 8.1.

Your GeForce Ti 4200 will work fine with directX9 (9.0b). It may not use some DirectX9 features but it will use DirectX8 and below features.Test your card by pressing Start, Run..., type dxdiag, OK. Let the DirectX Diagnostic stabilize, and select the various tab at the top of the menu, especially display. Run the associated tests.W. Sieffert

I ran the diagnostics last night and the Direct X features were grayed out. When I installed the new NVidia driver I got the message that said the driver was not "Microsoft Quality Tested." Maybe I should try installing DirectX 9 again? When I try to switch to the Ti4200 display driver under FS it does not allow me to check the graphics accellerator check box. Also, when I start FS2002 it says I do not have a graphics accelerator card and it will start in "Safe" mode. Thanks for your help, W.

Uninstall your driver, re-boot, and re-install the 44.03 nvidia drivers from nvidia.com (or www.guru3d.com).This should work just fine with DX9b.. if still a problem, re-install DirectX.

I have an AMD1800+ system with a Ti4200 (64MB) and it runs fine with 44.03 drivers and Direct X 9.0a. Separate question....would I see any improvements upgrading to Direct X 9.0b?
