December 17, 200322 yr Hi Mike,Many thanks for your kind replies which are much appreciated. When you say "driver bugs" are you referring to Blurry textures which in FS2002 look terrible. The 9800 XT produces good Frame rates, but the images are not very sharp to say the least. My Nvidia 4600 looked considerably better.I have complained to ATI ([email protected]) and they reckon that no one is moaning apart from me, so I 'm hoping that others will follow your lead.Once again many thanks.Best Wishes,Chris
December 17, 200322 yr Yes Chris, sometimes the Catalyst drivers produce blurry textures and or work in a handful of some games well and not in a different handful at the same time. One would have better luck using the Omega Drivers put out at omegacorner.com. Those seem to have cleared the problems up for me and I havent uncovered any problems recently. I don't worry about them much because I don't use that computer often for anything but business, but I would be upset if it were my main card and I would be on the horn with Ati constantly.Good luck bro. December 18, 200322 yr Gee .. so many opinions.. so little objective reviews. All the major reviews sites says and proves that ATI cards are better performing than nvidia cards at the moment. I have had both cards and i see a clear advantage with ati cards in terms of performance especially wih anti aliasing on.They perform almost equally at first but id rather have AA and AF enabled and its very clear to me that the Grforce FX line cannot handle those additional features well. So im gonna stick with Toms Harware Guide, anandtech my personal experience in saying that the ATI Card is a better buy. The "built by ATI cards .. not the "powered by ati cards. Cant speak for them.
