I currently have a Gainward 5950 card. I am very happy with it. My question is, would I see any speed increase or picture quality increase if I were to get a 6800 card?Rob

Thanks for the reply and the link. Sounds like a great card!. However, ive been reading about all the new hardware coming out this fall. CPU's up to 4000 by Xmas and new motherboards and chipsets required to run them. Seems like if I bought a Geforce 6800 now, I wont be able to use it since PCI express will be required. Ill wait until the PCI express versions are out and probably upgrade my whole system this fall. Seems to be the only way to go at this point.Rob

Hmmm... I doubt it..I went from cheepo default geforce to a 5900 Ultra and yes...it impoved a bit... but nothing substantial. $550 bucks worth... No way.I have a Dell Dimension 4400 P4 2.00gMAybe.. the video card was proally not my weakest link... So I would say.. that you need to take into account your overall system..before shelling out big bucks.Just from my experience.

Your CPU is the bottle neck. You need atleast 2.4 and above to make use of these new cards.
