Hello. Does anyone have any copies of recent Qantas flight plans to Antarctica (preferably covering different routes). I did find one on the internet a couple of years ago. I'm really hopeful of obtaining flight plans a little more recent (over Mount Erebus would be very cool!). It doesn't really matter where the flights originate from. Barz. What can I say? You've yet to let me down. What I will say once is again is thank you so very much. Your efficiency is second to none. Also, according to the internet, there are at least two more Antarctic flights scheduled in the near future. The dates of these flights are 12/31/08 and 01/17/09. I'm not sure if this will help you or not, but I thought it might. In any case, I again extend my best wishes and sincerely thank you.

Qantas has another of its annual Antarctica sightseeing trips scheduled (out of Melbourne, I believe) for December 31st. I would greatly appreciate someone (Barz, I hope you're out there) getting me a copy of this New Years Eve flight plan. Thanks as always! G'day!

Barz, Thank you again for your valued assistance with the Antarctica flight plan. I really do appreciate the time you take to assist me (and all the others) with our hobby. In closing, don't forget Qantas has one more Antarctic flight scheduled this year. Again it's out of Melbourne - with a scheduled departure time of 6:00 in the morning on January 17th. In Feb. 2004, there was a Qantas flight that flew further south than ever before. The flight was 2915. I believe it flew out of Melbourne, but I'm not positive Again, thank you so much for all of your time and effort. Hi BarzI know these posts are a little old. But I was looking on the internet for Qantas flight plans to Antarctica so I could do a flight there in Flight Simulator X and found a link to this post.I would be happy to replicate any of these Qantas FP's but I am unsure as to how to get them to work. I'm sure that this is due to the fact that I don't understand the way you have written them as per the quote above.I understand that CWS is Cowes at Phillip Island and that CLARK is an intersection near Hobart. As well as HB being Hobart itself. It is best for me to say that it is the inputs like this -> 6930S15925E/M082F29 <- that have me confused. I don't know how to get them into the flight plan. I have tried to do this using the default FSX Flight Planner as well as trying AeroSoft FlightSim Commander 8.5. Unfortunately I'm not having any success. :( Would it be possible for you to explain how to get this information into a flight plan? :( Thanks.Mark

Don't worry about a reply. I figured out how to get it into a flight plan using Aerosoft's FlightSim Commander 8.5.I found out I could add in the waypoints, like 60S142E, by selecting user waypoints (Uwp). So I have done all the flight plans in this posts. Now all I'm waiting for is the arrival of my PMDG 747-400X in the mail. ThanksMark

I know this is a big bump of a dead thread, But I have managed to get my hands on the routing section of Tonight's QFA2903 flight from Melbourne to Melbourne via the Antarctic, and what looks like a setup for a hold or lap right near Ross Island/Mt Erebus.

 

I was unable to get my hands on the EET's today, but the full scheduled time was to be 13hr 43min. A cursory glance using PFPX tells me the actual filed plan would be an hour shorter than this, and I suspect they are expecting to do some holding or slower/lower flight between arriving at BYRRD and departing BYRRD exiting northbound. MSA near Erebus is FL160 (Erebus itself is ~12,500ft). QFA limit flights to not below 10,000ft even when over open water or ice shelf.
