November 22, 200223 yr I will be purchasing Radar Contact 3 when available in the next few days, will this product be compatible with it at as FS Meteo is?Thanks
November 22, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi,According to John Dekker of Radar Contact, support is automatic when you use ActiveSky's destination/force option. This way when you are in range of your destination (or other airport of your choice) your weather updates from Radar Contact will be accurate. Also, landing runway assignments and approach types should thus be in accordance with the proper conditions.Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxre-banner.jpg Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
November 22, 200223 yr Do you see the two banners coexisting quite well ... ;-)Michael J.[link:hifi.avsim.net/activesky]http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg Michael J.

November 25, 200223 yr Damian, That's good news for me. :-) Bit late getting onboard with your new creation but I just d/l it and will give it a spin with RC.Best regards, Rob
November 25, 200223 yr I got RC3 when JD and I met this weekend. I can tell you that Fsmeteo and Active Sky work together fine with RC3 :) Capt.Richard Dillon (KATL)www.jetstarairlines.comhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpghttp://jdtllc.com/images/RCsupporter.jpg"Lets Roll" 9/11 -----------------------Specs AMD 1600 XP MSI KT 266t pro2 512MB DDR 2100GF3 ti 200 64MB SBliveCh Products Yoke and Pedals(usb)Windows 2000 Serivce Pack 3
November 26, 200223 yr Which one is best for now ? FSMeteo or ActiveSky ?For reliability, smooth clouds transition and weather changes in general ?With FSMeteo I had this problem happening often : when established on final, the weather station changed and the weather too, the assigned runway was different, very disappointing ...As I'm going to purchase RC3 too, maybe I'll go for ActiveSky ;)Best regards,Guillaume
November 27, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi,ActiveSky's FORCE options and wxRE's new weather planning interface makes this problem go away. You set your departure and destination (and any enroute or alternate) stations and the DESTINATION FORCE is automatically enabled. Now when you get close to your destination airport (default 60nm) the weather will transition to the destination weather, and any ATC or ATIS information will be correct for landing. You will then receive vectors for the correct runways without having things 'switch'.In addition, cloud transitions will now prevent the classic issue where you find GREAT fun cloud layers to descend through but as you near your airport, POP, and their gone! Now cloud layers form and dissipate over time and the results are much much better!Hope that helps...-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxresmallbanner.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
November 27, 200223 yr >Now when you get close to your destination airport (default >60nm)I actually will use this feature with much smaller distance. Something on the order of 10 miles perhaps ... I feel since real tower might switch runways on you pretty late in the game why not then be closer to reality.Michael J.[link:jdtllc.com]http://jdtllc.com/images/RCsupporter.jpg Michael J.
November 28, 200223 yr Damian,Thanks for the great work. I am one of those anxiously waiting for the release of the new version. The freeware version in my machine was fun and this newcoming release will be more fun.My question is about FSflightmax compatibility. Will ve able to see whats happenning on the sky through our weather radar?CheersMus
November 28, 200223 yr Yep, works for me with rain and snow.http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...941191779df.jpg
