I noted your remarks about getting rid of the blue band on the horizon. Wasn't wxRE supposed to extend an overcast from horizon to horizon? I thought that was one of the features of it (and admittedly, its biggest selling point from my perspective)? Thanks!Glenn

Hi Glenn,wxRE doesn't extend the horizon, it reduces visibilities to achieve a similar effect. Occasionally you will still see a contrast between the overcast cloud base and the normal rendered sky, but this is not necessarily the harsh blue band assoicated with LOW overcast layers, which wxRE solves by using vis reduction to 'hide' the band. This is optional.-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxresmallbanner.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table

Ahhh, ok. Thanks Damian. Man, I wish MS could recognize that an overcast extends to the horizon. It used to do that in one version, but they got away from that. That's a cool solution though Damian - nice thinking on that one! Thanks!Glenn

Glenn,FYI, this was just changed for pre-release... When your OVC vis reduction is enabled, it will reduce visibilities REGARDLESS of the altitude of the clouds. So if you don't ever want a harsh blue band, you won't ever get one with this option enabled. Your visibilites however will not always be in line with the METAR report. You can enable and disable at any time during your flight as well should you want to bring back the "blue band" and higher visibilities :)-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxresmallbanner.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table

Oh cool Damian!! Nice touch! That will work well for me as I don't worry too much about lower visibilities. I fly FS like I flew bush machines in real life anyway - with my eyes closed! Don't get scared that way! :( ;-)Glenn
