ActiveSky wxRE: offline METAR download doesn't work

Featured Replies

Hi folks, anyone out there has the same trouble? Since i bought this new weather program haven't been able to download a single METAR file for flying offline!!!I have a good 56K modem connection and never had such trouble in downloading METARS with other programs.I tried some workarounds suggested by author but without luck (i'm not a programmer).I have to say that the online feature works just fine.Come on, let's see if we can solve our trouble!cheersLuigi ;-)

Luigi,do you have the Offline/Preset mode selected in Options? Then press 'Auto-download and Create New'. You can even select UTC hour for download if you wish for past data, or simply leave it empty for current data. That should start downloading the latest METAR, TAF and Winds files.I just downloaded the files and it works fine, everything checks out.Regards,Jurehttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg

Hi Jure, this trouble is getting a little boring but...NOPE!!!NOPE!!!As we speak i'm trying downloading a METAR using another PC i have in my home and i'm still getting same error.I'm unable to download any METAR: maybe i should run FS2002 before connecting to the net?thanksLuigi ;-)
