December 15, 200223 yr Support,When useing the program with FS 2002. I get the following errors.1. Metar or TAF report syntax error - using last good data.2. Metar Data/Time Parse Error.Have you set up the program for Time Zone UTC Conversion to handle a number with a decimal in it, my TZ is -3:30 or -3.5.Attached are the Status and Options screens.
December 15, 200223 yr Hi,Timezones are in whole numbers---ie -3,+3 etc.Edhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
December 15, 200223 yr Ed, Can this be fixed? There are a few TZ's that use a .5 in them. And if not, then we would be forced to use a Time Zone on our computer that would not match up to where we live. Anyone flying to, from or over Newfoundland, and is using the corrected Time Zone files will get a possible error.r b m
December 15, 200223 yr Hi,Well I have learned something new. After scrolling through the list of times zones, I see what you mean. All these years (and there are a lot), I never noticed this. Damian would be the one to answer if it can be fixed or not.Ed
December 15, 200223 yr Commercial Member Very interesting indeed. Thanks for informing us rbm!Due to the way wxRE processes time, I do not see any significant difference in using the hour .5 ahead in this case. I have not checked yet, but wxRE may also take fractional hours into consideration already. Either way this will be 'addressed'!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 15, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi,I need to know what the METAR string is that is causing this, please copy and paste (from the Active wx METAR string). Thanks! It sounds like there is something wrong with the METAR.. have you noticed success with other stations? Thanks!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 16, 200223 yr Damian,This is what I have found out so far. When using the program with out FS2002 their are no errors. If I use ActiveSky offline in FS2K2 there is no Metar or TAF Report Syntax Error-Using last good data...But still getting a Parse Error for the Metar Date/Time.If I use ActiveSky in the online mode I get both Errors and it does not have to do with the Time Zone because I changed it to -4 and put my computer on Atlantic Time as a test.Seems like I can't upload the pic of the error with the metar. Will try it again.r b m
December 16, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi I didn't get the image... Please send it again..Make sure your status screen is also visible in the screenshot (or make a separate one). December 16, 200223 yr Commercial Member Ok Thank you for the info.. Now I can start to really troubleshoot this. Now, have you tried to change the UTC Conversion value to a whole number to see if it fixes it? If so, then I know what is wrong and I can address this in an update. BTW the time processing should not be greatly affected by only being .5 hours off. You can also not use SYSTEM TIME and use FS TIME instead and this will make the problem obsolete. But I will fix it either way.If this is not the problem, then we can try another airport to see if it is related to just this one or all airports. Thanks!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 16, 200223 yr I tried another airport and whole number but still got the errors when using online mode. I did not try a USA airport yet. I tried two Canadian airports. And I tried the FS TIME as well but got the same errors. r b m
December 16, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi, Ok..What is your location/country set to in Windows? Just trying to troubleshoot further.. Can you try changing this to US/English and see if it corrects the problem? Thanks..-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 16, 200223 yr I am using us/english.More information:Looks like the problem is with online mode at airports in eastern Canada. So far in Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland and at least in one airport in The Northwest Territories, Yellowknife give me the Errors. But in the USA and other Canadian airports no errors come up at all. So that may help your search for a fix. Go to airports like:Errors:CYYTCYHZCYQYCYQXNo errors:CYQMCYYZr b m
December 16, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi,No problem with those airports for me... Can anyone else confirm errors with these airports? There is something very strange going on here! Please contact me via email @ so I can email you back.
