January 4, 200323 yr The issue is hearing destination ATIS use current winds aloft for local winds and ATC vectoring one to a runway to match said winds. Someone recommended increasing the "force" setting to 100nm. I did and it didn't work. Is this a bug? I know some Radar Contact users are experiencing the same problem, but I'm not using Radar Contact. ActiveSky developers, are you aware of this as a bug, or is there any other thing that I can try to fix the issue? January 4, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hello Dave,Yes there have been a few reports of this and the problem was that the winds were shifting severely in speed and direction when the FORCE takes place. As the winds should be set to SMOOTH in FSUIPC, it takes time for the new winds to settle and for ATIS to report this. Remember that FS2002 ATIS is only aware of the current conditions.Sometimes users will also forget to REFRESH their weather when they change locations and it will use incorrect wind data for the new location. Make sure you refresh when changing airports (via World, Go to Airport).Note also that of course as ActiveSky is dynamic the winds can and WILL shift occasionally when you are inside the force range. It should not happen that often though. If you can duplicate this problem and send me the relevent info (winds aloft data and arrival METAR text) I can test it out to see if I can experience the same thing you are. As of yet I haven't been able to duplicate this so any help is much appreciated! January 4, 200323 yr If you had looked a little harder ;) you will see many threads about this. Yes it's a bug, will be fixed in the next release expected about mid Jan.
January 4, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi, the "bug" is related to RC3 not really a bug but functionality that is not yet implemented. The above user's problem is something different I believe? -Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
January 4, 200323 yr Author Hermit,The message was directed to ActiveSky developers, as I stated in the text. The theads you mention speak of a similar problem with Radar Contact users. Again, as stated in my message, I'm not using Radar Contact. Still, thank you for your response.Dave Vega dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library
