Having at last got things to work I have downloaded all the last 24 wx cycle files and thought I would put them in a folder named with yesterdays date. So I MOVED them all into it.Then when I tried to start ActiveSky again up comes that jolly ole error - Error reading wxre.ini file - there may be an offline file/folder incorrectly set. Check your INI file.So I COPIED all those files I had moved into the dated folder and Lo and Behold!! the program started up OK.So it seems, to be able to make a new set of 24z cycle files to-day or and any other day I have to copy over the old ones making it very important to remember which new ones you have downloaded.It just that seeing I do not have an Internet connection on my computer I decided to get a few days worth of files from my friend as he has ActiveSky also.OR am I doing something wrong?? Hi me agaibI should have mentioned that I left the default set of original wx files in the ActiveSky directory when I moved all the other new ones.So it did not want to start with only the default files.ta taRichard

I suspect before you quit Active Sky first go to the optionspage and set offline and select the default cycle. Thenyou can move all the other files and you should be ok. Or,go into the wxre.ini and editWXREOfflinePath = I:Microsoft GamesFS2002ActiveSky wxRE <---ExportPath = I:Microsoft GamesFS2002ActiveSky wxREOperationMode = OfflineDefaultOfflineFile = cycle18Z.wxd <---To a valid path and file scott s..

Better yet, go to the Options Screen and in the upper left you can "Select Your Offline Folder". Click on Save. I got error windows, but ignored them and things were OK.

You can also rename the files to 120103cycle23z.* and edit the .wxd file to reflect the name change.This is my biggest complaint with the program - a simple prefix with the date would allow much simpler archiving of weather data....sg
