wx-export.met problem

Featured Replies

Hi Damien,Since John Hnidec released FSFlightMax V1.4 most of us haveing been trying it out to see if it would restore radar returns which some of us having not had for a while.Prompted by a post by Techazoid in the FSFM forum I decided to try ActiveSky and FSFM again, below are my observations; these have also been posted in the FSFM forum.Using www.awfulweather.com I located a thunderstorm at SGAS, the METAR was some 2 hours old.Started FS and went to SGAS, started ActiveSky and sure enough I was surrounded by heavy rain and lightning.Started FSFM, made sure ActiveSky option was on and switched on the radar and waited, and waited, and waited - no returns. Now to the problemIn ActiveSky's window the METAR for SGAS isSGAS 111400Z 22006KT 2000 TSRA/BR OVC006 FEW040CB 22/22 Q1013wx-export.met entry for SGASSGAS 901800Z 34015KT 9999 SCT040 37/24 Q1008So it looks as if the wx-export.met file is using 2 day old METARS.Now if FSFM gets its weather data from the wx-export.met it has no chance of showing current weather.Techazoid saw a similar date/time discrepancy so my observation is not a one off.I should add that I have ActiveSky set for on line operation, not off line.Rgds
