January 19, 200323 yr Hi Damian,I'm afraid I'm still getting different METARs in the ActiveSky UI and in the wx-export.met file with AS 1.1This appears to be related to the timezone setting of the computer.I live in Holland, so the time zone is GMT+1.In the ActiveSky interface, at 12:00 local time I get METAR for ~11:00(Z). But in the wx-export.met file, I get the METAR for ~10:00(Z), so weather in FS and in FSFlightMax won't match up (unless there's been no change for the past hour) Perhaps the UTC conversion is being done once for the first METAR request, and again for the FSFlightMax request?
January 19, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi,Sounds like a cycle file problem on the NOAA server, sometimes this happens where a report wont get put on the cycle download (which AS uses to create the export file). You should actually get both a 12Z and 11Z, but 10Z as well if 11Z is erroneos or incomplete. Only the latest entry is used. This shouldn't happen very often, let me know if it does not clear up.. and I am working on additional logic to handle these types of situations.. January 19, 200323 yr Hi Damian,I have the exact same problem in the UK. UTC set at 0.Current weather:EGPF 190820Z 28002KT 0400 R23/0450 R05/0325 FG BKN000 BKN010 WX-export:EGPF 190650Z 00000KT 1200 R23/P1500 R05/0450 BR FEW004 BKN180 04/03 Q0992I have tried several times and every time I get the same result. I hope you can fix this problem as it is very annoying when you have 2 great programs i.e Activesky and Fsflightmax and they can't interact.Regards RobertP3 1.0ghzgf4 ti4200512mb rdramsb livexp home
January 19, 200323 yr Author Thanks, Damian, I'll keep that in mind but so far this one hour difference seems to be happening all the time.btw. I keep being amazed at how much more realistic the weather is in flightsim itself now that I'm using your program! I hated the 'bad weather-blue horizon' problem in FS and your rain/overcast visibility options are taking care of that now!
