March 11, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi all,The beta team has confirmed that there is an intermittent problem with ADVDISP 2.01, which "locks up" all FSUIPC communications, disabling any FSUIPC add-on such as wxRE. The symptoms of this include failure of winds or other weather to update appropriately or timely. The occurance of this is very rare based on reports..If you have this problem, you should disable ADVDISP. I will be looking into a solution or work-around to enable to use of ADVDISP on these few problematic systems (perhaps resulting in an ADVDISP update to address this FSUIPC communication issue). March 11, 200323 yr Hi Emile,no, it concerns all users who are working with Radar Contact 3 and wxRE together.AdvDisp is the control interface window for all RC keystrokes, but you can also use AdvDisp just to display the weather reports of AS.-Sorry Damian, just want to help out here ;) -
March 11, 200323 yr Author Commercial Member Thanks Chris! Also, note that so far this has been isolated to ADVDISP WITHOUT RC3 running... Not a very common setup but it is possible! Thanks to the beta team for hashing this out..-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 11, 200323 yr Hi Damian,I wonder if this problem may also occur with RC3 running. The last 2 or 3 flights I have made with ActiveSky, RC3, AdvDisplay and Flight Deck Companion running have generated an FSUIPC error sometime during the flight. I become aware of the error when FDC suddenly informs me that it has detected an error and the program stops interacting. The black box log for FDC describes the error as originating in FSUIPC. I am at work and don't remember the exact wording, but the description said something about a problem reading some variable from FSUIPC. I was planning on testing this more before letting Dave March of FDC know about it.
