December 20, 200322 yr Mike, Thanks for re-posting. We'll be here if you need ANY help. It will really help us if you start a new thread.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
December 20, 200322 yr Ok, without any doubt, ActiveSky is quite impressive. The installer went without hitch. The documentation was excellent. I had no problems configuring and setting up MSFS for my first flight. And I must admit, I had none of the problems discussed amongst this forum or others. No stuttering, FPS loss, lockups, severe wind, etc.The only anomoly I noticed was during the final approach into KSTL. At or about 2500ft, my visibility settings changed 3 times. However, it was not distracting whatsoever.I'm not one to pit one product over another but I will say that ActiveSky appears mcuh more stable and realistic (on my system) than FsMeteo. Thanks for a great product.Mike
December 20, 200322 yr Disaster - absolutely NOT!!! AS2004 brings a level of realism in weather i have never seen before. Well done Damian and your team...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53647.jpg
December 20, 200322 yr Mike,Glad you like it - I reckon the outside will look pretty good on your pit.
December 20, 200322 yr Danian, I appreciate your response.I have never used either Active Camera or Weather Center 2. Neither has ever been installed on my machine. I have, however, left the previous version of Active Sky on the machine for those occasions when I use FS2K2.Norm
December 20, 200322 yr Only wish I could view your site to see the latest updates. For some reason my screen remains black when I access the Deltaflight website. Is there another link I could follow to get past the opening page.
December 20, 200322 yr Moderator What was the Hulk's favorite line?---"you wouldn't like it when I'm angry" LOLGlad you got it and minor annoyances aside, I'm sure you'll love the product. it's far and away better than anything else out there.Happy flights,Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
December 20, 200322 yr Damian, a follow-up after more testing:After having installed the new Active Sky software, as I explained the FS9 keyboard was lost. I found that it mattered not whether I rebooted, restarted FS9, or even whether or not I had started ActiveSky. The keyboard was gone for good - all except F9, the FSNav key which, for reasons I cannot explain, remained functional. With regard to what someone called my 'cranky keyboard': Not the least bit cranky until Active Sky was installed, at which time the mouse scroll wheel suddenly becamse occasionally cranky too in FS9. Both devices fine outside of FS9.Regarding conflicting hardware & software: I am pretty conservative when it come to software - especially sim software. I use FSNav quite a lot but have few addons other than that and FSMeteo, which still does a bad job with FS9 in my opinion, and Squawkbox including the new AVC. I have never installed either Active Camera or Weather Center on this computer. I was using FSUIPC v3.135 registered. Hardware wise, here it is: Dell Dimension 8200, upgraded to 2.6 Ghz P4, 500 meg Rambus memory, ATI Radeon 9600 Pro card, Soundblaster Live card. Pretty basic. How did I recover? I restored XP Home Edition to the system checkpoint taken just prior to Active Sky installation and all was completely well again. Kind of points to Active Sky, I think? As for beta testing: I too am in the software business and know how stuff happens - even with seemingly good testing. Here's my deal: let me join beta testing for your next 'fix' version, and I won't be after you or SimMarket for a 20 Euro refund. That's fair, isn't it?Regards,Norm
