Sound and freeze problems with AS2004

Featured Replies

Hi,I just bought AS2004 and I'm having two problems using it...1) When I turn on Active Radar the sound starts to bump;2) When I change the larger Active Radar for the smaller active radar, it completely freezes my FS2004 screen. This happens no matter the details I set for the active radar.I would appreciate any help.

Sorry you are having trouble. Need some system specs also please!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

As if it wasn't enough, when it works, sometimes the radar stays black without showing any weather information on the map.

Hi, if you have enabled Alt. Radar Render you should turn this off, it might be causing the performance hit here.As far as not seeing radar returns, can you confirm you have a flightplan loaded in AS2004 and ActiveRadar? This is important to ensure consistency...Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg

Are you in areas of rain or snow? Radar does not show every cloud, just precipitation.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Damian, email with attach sent.ThanksMarcelo Foscarini

Hi Jim,hum, I wasn't, but I'm a little confused now. I had read that in the first paragraph of the active module section in manual, but earlier I did a flight where was not raining anywhere and the radar was showing the weather, as can be seen below:http://www.vflight.org/apr/as2004p-04.jpghttp://www.vflight.org/apr/as2004p-08.jpghttp://www.vflight.org/apr/as2004p-02.jpgAs you can see it wasn't raining in any of the stations in this case.By the way, even removing the "render" option the sound continues to bump.

Hello,I have a P4 3.06 GHz, 1 GB RAM, Radeon 9800PRO 128 MB, and when flying with my 737PMDG I get less than 0 fps when activating the active radar...When I don't use the active radar the fps are still less then 10fps in thick clouds... suppose that's normal??Raymond [email protected]

Well you got echos, but now too many! Not sure why this is. Data did not show rain. Could have been old data in the radar. Try global weather OFF in AS.For sound issue to try: turn down radar setting some more. They still look quite high from your screen shot.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Raymond,No, you need to turn down some settings to boost your FPS.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Hello Jim,Thanks,Just made a short flight from LOWW to LOWI through clouds/rains/snow, over the Austrian alps... went OK...magnificent vieuws :)just can't use the activeradar :(Raymond Vankan
