December 27, 200322 yr Damian:Thanks. I'll make the log and email it to you.One point, though. I am not using WideFS on my system. It is just a straight single computer system.I appreciate your continued help on this. It is really odd.Wilson
December 28, 200322 yr Damien/Jim:Thanks for the NEW (not upgraded) program. I really appreciate the deal that you came up with for us old users. I had purchased the orginal, so had to go the alternative route in getting the new software, but it installed without a flaw.Everything is great on the weather side, but I can't seem to get any returns on the radar side. I have isolated the problem, but not sure what the cure is.I printed out and followed the startup procedures. Clear via FSUIPC, load plan and process. Review the weather, and it is appropriate. Raining outside and rain reported in AS2004. Open ActiveRadar and load plan and update. System reports that weather is updated. But no precip showing on screen.I checked the Weather Tracking section in ActiveRadar, and here is what I found. All of the info in the "Flight Tracking" window is correct. HOWEVER, in the Local Info window, I get a report of "Nearest Station" being DGTK. This is regardless of where the aircraft is actually located. I have moved to several different locations and loaded several flight plans created in FS9.For some reason, Nearest Station seems to be stuck on DGTK. All other processes and reported weather match my actual location.I must be missing a step somewhere, but I can't seem to find my error. How do I refresh ActiveRadar to recognize my current location (which is, in fact the departure location)? Thanks again for a great program. The weather effects are dazzling!Wilson
December 30, 200322 yr Damian: Any possibility that this problem is created because I am using an UNregistered copy of FSUIPC? The errors that I am getting when I begin logging is that there is an unauthorized program (or something like that) trying to access FSUIPC. It appears that FSUIPC does not recognize that you are an authorized vendor. Just a thought . . . Wilson
December 30, 200322 yr Wilson,I use the same FSUIPC and my HiFi stuff is always recognized. I still wonder if you have files from WC floating around. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
December 30, 200322 yr Jim:Are you using an UN-registered copy of FSUIPC? If so, then that blows that theory of mine away. Damien sent me an earlier version of FSUIPC, which I used, but had the same problem. He looked at the FSUIPC log that I generated and found that FSUIPC was not accepting writes from ActiveRadar, if I understood correctly.I have done a file search of the drive and deleted any files that made sense. Perhaps if you can supply a complete list of all files from WeatherCenter, then I can do a search for each one. I also did a registry search, but found nothing there. Thanks for the continued support,Wilson
December 30, 200322 yr HiI too have no radar returns.Well established network.Never had WCLatest registered versions of FSUIPC and WideFSI have yet to get the conector programme to work properly (but I am getting closer and this is the subject of a seperate post) so I cut and pasted the files across as per the read me in the beta prog. The dispaly comes up fine but NO clouds - even when I fly through rain..........I have put down the lack of radar returns due to this ham fisted approach!
December 30, 200322 yr When you get WideFS up and if you still do not get radar returns, please start a new topic. This makes it easier to troubleshoot with you. Thanks!!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
December 30, 200322 yr Wilson,Yep, unregistered version. I don't have a list of files because I un-installed WC. I do have the zipped installations. Now I wonder if a fresh install of FS and AS2004 might be in order. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
December 31, 200322 yr It worked!Once . . .Here is what I did:1) I uninstalled AS2004.2) I INstalled WeatherCenter 2.1 Novice in FS9 (and FS2002, for good measure).3) I UNinstalled WeatherCenter 2.1 Novice (both places).4) I INstalled AS2004.5) Started FS9, started AS2004.6) Started ActiveRadar. Got actual local site (KHOU) in A/R when AS2004 updated and ugly green text bar appeared in FS9.SHAZAAMMM!!! IT WORKS! IT WORKS! :-jumpy7) Went into options and deactivated the ugly green, scrolling text bar.8) Closed all programs.9) Restarted FS9, followed by AS2004, followed by ActiveRadar.10) Got DGTK as local in ActiveRadar :-grr .11) Went into AS2004 options and turned ugly green text bar on.12) Closed all programs.13) Restarted FS9, followed by AS2004, followed by ActiveRadar.14) Got DGTK again as local in ActiveRadar :-erks .So, any ideas of what is going on :-hmmm This is REALLY strange.Wilson
December 31, 200322 yr Well at least you got to see it once!!JK!! Now it's like Damian said, a communication problem between AR and FSUIPC. I would now look for multiple copies of FSUIPC in FS04.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
December 31, 200322 yr Yep, it was great! Almost orgaz . . ., nevermind.I wanted to just lay back and have a cigarette, but then I remembered that I don't smoke.Did a file search. Only one copy of FSUIPC in '04 and one in '02.Damian needs to pay Peter his fee, so that FSUIPC will recognize A/R :-lol Wilson
December 31, 200322 yr Commercial Member LOL..Check your e-mail, a few more suggestions are in there for you..FWIW AS2004 AND ActiveRadar are both licensed/accredited for use with unregistered FSUIPC.Here are the details:Company: HiFi Simulation SoftwareProduct Name: ActiveRadarModule name: ActiveRadar.dllKEY = 5G3E UHFO BQE4Company Name: HiFi Simulation SoftwareProduct Name: ActiveSky2004Application Name: AS2004KEY = 8BQL 6HWA PW1Q-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
