Problems with downloading weather?

Featured Replies

Hi,Does anybody know about any problems with downloading weather with WXRE. It doesn't seem to work now for about 24 hours.....Up until now i had no problems at all.Greetz, Marco

Marco,Sorry you are having trouble. The airport data is up again. As for the winds aloft: According to the wind source website, the RAOB winds server is off-line this week (probably due to maintenance/upgrades). The server is expected to return next week. We apologize for the inconvenience this causes, but the public government servers are not under our control. All other wxRE functions, including surface-based wind aloft data simulation, will continue to operate normally and the accuracy of the winds will only be partially effected. Please contact us if the winds server connection does not return by 1/14/2004. Thank you for your understanding and patience.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Jim,Thanks for your reaction. Only one thing: the airport METARs are not downloaded either. I see no METARs in the WXRE window. Are these servers down too or is it something ele?Greetings Marco

Marco,At 1700Z I got a good download. Is your Internet connection OK?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Jim,My Internet Connection is ok and before i did not have any problem at all! The only thing I see is: "Metar report initializing" but nothing happens....The next thing is a download timeout. Nothing happens in FS2002 either. I see NO weather/wind changes. No settings changes are made either. I'm very disappointed, as this is the first add-on for my FS2002 that I paid for. This is going on for one week now....Greetings, Marco

Hooray!!It seems that all servers are up and running again!Testing at this moment, and it seems stable at this moment....Greetings Marco

Well.........At his moment 1840Z not anymore...

I've just got my first download in over a week. Hope it stays up for a while after this maintanance.Gavin

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

Hi Gavin,It seems the servers are down again at this moment. They were up for about 2 hours, but at this moment there are no downloads possible. I get the same messages as for the last week....Greetz Marco

I just tried and got a good download.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Jim, the servers are up and running again! Thanx

I'm not getting a winds-aloft server as of 0045z on 1/19/2004 (7:45 pm EST on Sunday the 18th...)Any ideas?

Yes, I would say the server is down again. Wish there was something we could do about it. I know it's not enjoyable. Please know that weather and surface winds are being processed.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Isn't there any other server at all to get the information from. For now and quite a while back i seems to be a common problem.

I've been experiancing an simular problem. AS is downloading the weather but it seems not to loading into FS9. I must continully press the refresh button before it takes. I started having this problem when I installed the latest FSUIPC version. Not sure if that's the problem.Bill M
