Serious Pressure Issue

Featured Replies

Folks:I think that this has been addressed before, but I couldn't find any posts.I have experienced some "extreme" pressure settings. For example, on the way into TLPC yesterday, I noticed that wild descending to 11000 ft, the altimeter just kept increasing while in a descent. I was hitting "B" to set the altimeter, and saw that the pressure was dropping like a rock (at 27.00, I finally restart AS2004, and that cured it). Then, as I was departing this morning from TLPC, I hit "B" to set my altimeter and discovered it was "00.00 in. hg". Restarted AS2004; same prob. Gave up and switched to FSMETEO V6... prob solved.Of course AS2004 is better than FSMETEO, so after departing TLPC, I went back to AS2004... all was well until I began my descent into TTPP, then the pressure starting dropping. Back to FSMETEO.Is this a known issue? Thanks,James

Yep, happens to me. I've brought it up a few times, yet to see any real fix for it. This morning into KPBI 100nm out. KBPI was reporting 30.28 Well I went through five instant weahter changes and the Pressure changes as high as 30.58. With the reporting station showing 30.30 while FS was saying it was 30.58 .The thing is it only happens with the destination airport. I would give anything for a box like WXRE had that forced the weather at your destination so many miles out.

Hi All,If this happens again, can you cut and paste the METER here. Thanks!!JimActiveSky Support

Jim, Damian that update fixed everything. Pressure was constant all the wy down. Now I got to fix this massive framerate hit with these freaking clouds. Thanks again guys for your hard work!!!

Jim:Happened again... and I have the Alpha patch installed.As you requested, here was the METAR that was showing in the window at the time it happened... however, I'm not sure what this tells you, because this is not necessarily the Wx being sent to FS9, it it?TBPO 140016Z 09011KT 26/22 Q1014 RMK DYNAMIC TAF ELEMENTAlso, here's the ENROUTE Wx.TLPC 142100Z 08006KT 9999KM FEW025 27/23 Q1013TLPC 142119Z 15004 09015KT 9999 oEW025 TEMPO 001 5000 SHRA BKN018 SCT040=FL030: 066/16 (21.8) FL060: 071/14 (15.9) FL090: 051/11 (13.7)FL120: 013/05 (6.2) FL180: 241/08 (-4.8) FL240: 277/20 (-15.2)FL300: 259/31 (-21.8) FL340: 250/25 (-40.0) FL390: 223/17 (-52.9) ***Route-Based Wind Smoothing features enabled - processed data may not match real-time reports!***For absolute accurate data, turn off Wind Smoothing...TFFF 142300Z 05003KT 9999 FEW023 24/22 Q1013 NOSIGTFFF 142100Z 150024 VRB03KT 9999 FEW020 BECMG 08012KT SCT026 PROB30 TEMPO 0012 7000 SHRA FEW015TCU SCT020FL030: 066/14 (21.3) FL060: 075/11 (15.5) FL090: 053/09 (13.2)FL120: 019/08 (6.8) FL180: 249/06 (-5.1) FL240: 285/16 (-16.1)FL300: 260/31 (-22.3) FL340: 251/35 (-39.6) FL390: 234/21 (-52.5) ***Route-Based Wind Smoothing features enabled - processed data may not match real-time reports!***For absolute accurate data, turn off Wind Smoothing...And finally, I suggest you try a flight from TBPB to TFFR and see if you experience this. Fly via the FOF VOR. The problem occurred about halfway from TBPB to FOF. (Note: I have ONLY experienced this problem while flying in the Caribbean, but I believe others have experienced in other locations.)Next time, I will turn on the FSUIPC Wx Logging feature... maybe that data will help you??Thanks,James

James,I quickly flew the route and saw those baro. readings jumping all over the place. Don't see the reason though. One for Damian!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
