March 2, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi,The slight pause during the actual weather activate is required for FS9 wx update (and apparent in default FS9 real wx update as well). How long is the period of slowness lasting for you? Currently on an AMD XP2400+ with no big stutters (the pause only lasts about .25 seconds, and can be eliminated via alitutude suppression).Frame rates can be confirmed using Shift-Z in FS9.Can anyone else please share their experiences in the frame rate department (during wx update)? Thanks!Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 2, 200422 yr To monitor frame rates, you can also modify fs9.cfg. Adding "Ave_Frame_Rate_Display=1" to the [MAIN] section, will show instantaneous, min, max & average FPS. Can also be useful when trying to determine the effect of setting changes. Steve
March 2, 200422 yr Damian - My pause is about 2 - 4 seconds usually. Now this was with .86 and .84 - I will try .87 when I get home tonight. This was also without a flightplan loaded - so that could also be an issue.I will retry tonight and let you know.I am at work so it wil be about 8 hours or so, but is there anything you would you like me to try when I do the test or any varations there of ( turning some settings on or off for instance )?
March 3, 200422 yr I tried a flight last night with .87- the data write was about .25 seconds - must have been something in the previous builds that didn't like my setup.
