The new FSDS2 & Landing lights...

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if FSDS2 offers a feature that will add visible landing lights (from the cockpit) to the current FSDS1 aircraft???As everyone knows FSDS1 aircraft lack this feature and I hope the update solves it.

It does (see my Cessna 140) but it requires a total rebuild of the model in fsds 2 to get it to work, you just can't add in the lights.Brian

I'm not sure I would describe it as a "total rebuild" just to add landing lights, but it will involve some significant work. You would need to redo all of the animation (which also means renaming all those parts, moving/rotating the axis of parts with stock animations, and creating new animations for parts with keyframe animation), which is a pretty big process. You will probably also have to redo things like props, which are handled differently. So, big job but not a "total rebuild" (IMHO). However, it you've already gone this far you will also probably want to add other FS2002 features like gear compression, reflections, etc., and then it is a bigger job, I admit.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Sounds like a rebuild to me. I guess it's all in how you look at it...
