June 7, 200422 yr For some reason, I decided to install the flight plans (.pln) to the FS9Flights folder. A couple of people said that FS doesn't like that, even though it seems to work for me. If you have any problems with FS9 or AS2k4 loading/processing plans, you should copy or move the .pln files found in the FS9FlightsAS2k4ADv1 and FS9FlightsAS2k4ADv2 folders to My DocumentsFlight Simulator FilesIf other issues arise, I will fix this in the installer version in a future release.Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
June 14, 200421 yr Author So I was wrong about that one - ActiveRadar has no problem with the "-" in the file names. In an effort to make my flight plans as compatible with as many flight planners as possible, I left the AppVersion=9.0.30612 line out of the plans. This apparently renders the plans unacceptable to ActiveRadar. This problem can be fixed in two ways. First, download the patch which I'm about to upload to AVSIM, clicking the AS2k4AD link in my sig should get you there. OR, second, you can use the automatic flight plan conversion feature of ActiveSky2004 MR2 to fix the plans. Either way works just fine!Sorry for the inconvenience!Best,sgPS, Jim, since that previous post is inaccurate, can you delete it for me?Thankssg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
June 14, 200421 yr Author For those of you who tried and enjoyed Vol.1, I've got good news! Volume 2 of my weather adventures has been released - see the screenshots here!Volume 2 contains three days of real weather archives for use with AS2004 in offline mode. The flights take you along the entire route of the Appalachian Trail as typical spring weather prevails! This volume takes advantage of the TAF processing features of AS2004 to create subtle variations in the weather, increasing the replay value of these flights tremendously. Additionally, I've included extensive documentation viewable via the kneeboard in FS9 including diary entries, annotated sectionals and radar loops!Take a look, link is in my sig!Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
June 14, 200421 yr Done, and glad you are back for this one!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
June 21, 200421 yr I've just flown the first leg successfully and had a lot of fun, thanks. One problem I encountered was that some of the hyperlinks from the kneeboard would not work for me - the kneeboard just freezes and all I can do is close it. It seems to occur when there is an additional parameter at the end of the .html reference, for example .html#TOPIf I just access the page in Internet Explorer, the link won't work if I just click or double-click: I have to hit the Enter key.I suspect there is something fundamental in my desktop settings which isn't right. Any suggestions please? Many thanks,Bryn
June 21, 200421 yr Author Strange. Let me poke around a bit... The #top part is called an anchor - without them, the kneeboard tends to position the page randomly - you could of course use something like notepad and edit them out, but you shouldn't have to. I'm not sure why you need to press enter after clicking the links either. Do you use MSIE, and do you have problems with any other links? As an aside, another user, Russell Todd, has found yet another error in one of my flight plans - this was a "." instead of a "," in plan 6 of the flight plans patch - it will cause a CTD if FlyAT-Leg06.pln from the patch is loaded. I'll upload the fixed plan to AVSIM tomorrow - in the meantime, get it here.Sorry for all these problems with the flight plans!Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
June 22, 200421 yr Author Bryn,I have been looking into this, and I cannot come up with anything for you - sorry. I've even done some searches on browser issues, and not being able to handle anchors, but I've come up with zero. Maybe someone else will have an idea for you...Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
