July 25, 200421 yr Hi all,I've run into a problem with ActiveRadar - it causes CTD's. Now I really don't use it, so I have just renamed the main DLL to prevent loading of AR. That cured my CTD's, but I would like to know what I need to do to remove AR completely.Jim, Damien - anyone?TIA & BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
July 25, 200421 yr Hi,In your Add/Remove programs there may be an Active Radar entry. If not, just delete the AR folder along with the dll.Or better yet run the AR Update and check the remove option.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
July 27, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi,CTD's with AR? That's a first! Do you have render to texture OFF? Latest video drivers? To remove AR you should delete the ActiveRadar.dll and activeradar folder as Jim suggested... Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
July 28, 200421 yr Author Hi Damian,I suspect some corrupt file may be the cause. I had been using AS/AR with no problems - actually, I very seldom have any problems with FS; I keep it simple :)Anyway, suddenly I had 2 chrashes (BSOD) but the PC rebooted normally, and I didn't try FS after the 2nd one.But the next time I wanted to run FS, the splash screen showed up and then just disappeared...Renaming AR made it work again, and interestingly enough: No more BSOD's.I'm currently using CAT 4.4 (I'm moving to 4.7 soonest), I don't know the status of Render to Texture but whether on or off, it has been working. Don't worry about it - as I said, I don't use it. I find that it uses too many resources (FPS drop from locked 21 to 14, and this system is capable of FPS around 60, max seen 90+). Also the window does not integrate as well into the panel as I would like. The rest of Activesky is the best add-on I have ever bought!!! It fully deserves the 5 stars! Thanks anyway, BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
