August 14, 200421 yr Flew last night from KSTL to KBWI and was at FL330 and FL370. About 45 minutes into the 2 hr flight, the 737 starting getting buffeted pretty severely. Airspeed started jumping all over the place, at times making it go to overspeed. A/T couldn't control smoothly. Aircraft kept yawing left to right. Had wind smoothing enabled, could find nothing set out of the ordinary. Tried to update weather again.....same. This happened all the way down to about 2,000 ft approaching KBWI. I thought the wind smoothing routines were supposed to prevent this sort of thing from happening. Is there something I might not have set right or is there still a bug in the wind smoothing?By the way, I'm glad I was not a passenger for real on that flight, or in the maint. crew that had to clean that plane......it would have been pretty disgusting!Rick
August 14, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi Rick,There is a known problem with direct wind control in FSUIPC 3.308 (affecting only a few) which Pete has addressed and we are internally testing FSUIPC 3.317 at this time with good results so far.You can disable direct wind control via AS2004 options which should solve the problem.Hope that helps! August 16, 200421 yr I also have B132 and had wind jumping problems while in flight- but it was a regular thing where I could specifically "trigger" it by switching views to VC or spot, etc. Disabling DWC fixed it on those accounts but I still get some wind jumping when in flight. It is not a regular predictable thing anymore but seems like when I cross wind layers it will jump around for a little bit before the wind smoothing will smooth it out.Does anyone else experience this? AS2004 B132 and the FSUIPC that came in that patch download (3.3.08 is it?) I have FSUIPC's wind smoothing enabled through AS2004 but it still does this.Ruahrc
