FSBrowser v. local files?

Featured Replies

Damian, Jim, anyone else:Not sure the active sky support forum is the place for this, but...I'm trying to add a reference to a local file to FSBrowser's config files - either FSBrowser.cfg or Favorites.cfg - but I've not been successful in any consistent way. I'd like to set my homepage to something like kneeboard_keys.htm (or FSX-ionals!) located in the aircraft directory, but explicit references to c:program filesmicrosoft gamesfs9aircraftkneeboard_keys.htm or file:///c:program filesmicrosoft gamesfs9aircraftkneeboard_keys.htm do not work when they are added to the .cfg files. These work perfectly well by typing them into the edit bar, however. Adding the file to a hotkey after the page is open doesn't work either...Any ideas? Thanks!sg

Sure did, Jim. Regardless which format I use (file:///(path to fs)/Aircraft/kneeboard_keys.htm or just c:/path/etc), I get google. Tried PageFuntions 1-3 and homepage. Tried entering the url into the edit bar, then setting PageFunctions and home page with the FSBrowser interface - sets fine, won't load the page. FSBrowser seems to add http: to the url, or drops characters off the end - kneeboard_keys.ht instead of the real filename. Also tried entering it as a website in Favorites.cfg, then I even created a new node with local page nested, no luck...One other thing with FSBrowser is that, I use dialup on my FS PC, and when FSBrwoser is installed, the dialup connection is initiated as soon as FS starts. I was hoping that with the homepage defined as a local file, this might not occur. The primary reason I wanted to get this to work is because FSX-ionals! looks GREAT in FSBrowser!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/90264.jpgThanks for your help!sg

Hi Scott,Sounds like something in the code assuming http and messing up the URL, thus defaulting to the google home page.I'll take a look at the code soon and see if we can add support for such local files... Thanks for the info!
